I'm giving away trees to anyone who wants them in the UK, so long as you cover the few £ postage - see below
So after two years the hand-me-down Christmas tree me and the Mrs have been using gave up the ghost - decided we might as well buy our own. The old one was old. It was her grandparents. Like when they made this plastic was new.
The individual tufts are all quite finely detailed plastic, rather than the 'tinsel' look you get on new trees, and looking at them, they'd make ideal fir trees for 15-28mm scales. One on its own doesn't look much, but bunched together they're great.
I've already got two forests planned, but I got three full carrier bags of the things off the tree before it went in the bin. More than enough for me, so any scenery modellers who want a cheap and easy project, PM me, we'll sort postage and how many you want, and they're yours for free! -Well, it is Christmas.
(Oh and I see no reason they wouldn't stuff in an envelope, so they should be cheap as chips to post!)
Pic below - I have three whole carrier bags stuffed with these things:

Hello good sir, what is the cost of postage and packing to the frozen tundra at the edge of the earth that is western canada? I'd be looking for about 40 pieces.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from. |

I am popping to my work later to nab some of those plastic bag/envelope things, I'll use how many can be stuffed in there as a base for postage - if you want to guess yourselves use royal mails postage calculator, at around 500g (they're very light and that's the minimum weight you pay for anyway) using 'Airmail Small Packets"
[Edit] OK got the bags, stuffed as many trees as would fit (over a hundred) and weighted them to get prices online (no insurance, no tracking, no fancy box) its:
£3 UK
£7.65 U.S / Canada
£4.95 Ireland / European Union
Thanks for all the PM's - replies sent so first come first served!
Santas bulging sacks (these things are stuffed - I squeezed all the air out)

Ok Everyone who has paid me has had their's posted at this point - I used the cheapest postage as I said so please allow up to 5 days for UK, and I have no idea how long for U.S and Europe! Standard 'Airmail Small Packets' times as per Royal Mail.
(One bag left as someone reserved some but didn't pay me in the end)Edit: Gone now

...And last bag gone! The remaining trees will be gracing my own battleboard hot-glued on mdf bases. This is going to be one far-travelling ex-Christmas tree - Finland, Canada, Ireland, Italy, United States, and UK! Bear in mind even though they have been paid for and handed over at my local post office, due to the post being off for boxing day, new years eve and new years day, they will barely be on the way, if at all at time of writing this!
Happy New Year all, let me know how your scenery ideas come along.

Really good idea for terrain though, I might pick up a tree while the local store has 75% off sale

Good luck finding one of this style or quality. Modern fake trees are just green tinsel wrapped around wire - I've never seen one that actually had plastic impersonation branches and individual impersonation fir tufts on. This one was at least 25 years old.
