Ok so I'm writing fluff for my Luna wolves chapter (made up of traitors who want redemption and young astartes recruited sectretly) anyway, I'm trying to name my chapter master, I'm thinking one of the following:
Sol lupum- sun wolf
maledictus lupum- Cursed wolf
verax lupum- true wolf
And any suggestions.

No, it isn't. "Ur" is the Sumerian word for "city", such as in "Ur", "Uruk", "Kisurra", "Nippur" and so on.

Well, you must make difference between Akkadian and Sumerian (or can we say Old sumerian, before coming of akkadians which is first true Sumer). Because its two very different languages. Ur means in Akkadian city, but in summerian its wolf or dog. You can use suffixes and maybe make wolf as urbar (or urbarar), which means something like "dog from outside", but usually is cuneiform writing found with simple "ur".

Believe me, I have few years of akkadian and one painful year of sumerian

If with "naming" you mean a 'proper' name (birth or given), use the background you estabilished for your chapter's home world(s)...

If you mean more a title, referring wolves.. Mmmmm... What about "the Oulykos"? From greek, iirc, it should mean "no wolf", or "the Eulykos" ("perfect wolf")... or a more ambiguous "the Ulykos", which shoul mean both (like utopia, which may be 'perfect place' or 'no place')
Anyhow, feel free to distort a bit the sound/spelling...

Just make up a cool sounding name. It doesn't have to have any basis in any real language or culture. As for the latin, leave it to the pushy pricks on Ultramar and their scions.

Take any kind of hard object, add a violent verb or something mundane.

Examples:

Rockbreaker (easy!)
Crystalbrow (floofy!)
Mathwhip (Funny! Name him Carl!)

My chapter master is named "Sven."

Creative, I know. But not everyone in the universe has some kind of super badass name like ANGRON or something. The character's actions make him badass, not the arrangement of letters in his name. Don't sweat it.

**Shadow Captain Edithae**

Go to wikipedia and look up the Species Names for various species of wolves and other similar animals. You might encounter some cool sounding words that can be adapted into names for Space Marines.

I came up with the name "Edithae" when I looked up the Somali Crow or Dwarf Raven. The Species name being 'Corvus Edithae'.
