So I recently decedied to rebuild my world eaters and with christmas I decieded to treat myself to a maelstrom of gore and lo and behold I open the box to base them and 2e backpacks, so I looked at the pictures on the box and the models in the pictures have the new backpacks, so I called gw and they said pictures may vary. Im a bit salty. I wonder if theyll ever update the kit.

Amendment I called them back and was alot more frustrated with the situation and they replaced the old not fitting packs with the current packs.

I remember having gotten some kits with the old power plants. If I remember correctly, none of the berzerker backpacks fit (last kit was assembled some time ago) I remember having had to cut them down, and snip off the nub on the zerker body. Incidentally, I happen to think berzerkers are terribly fugly models. I'm fine with the rabbit ears and the torso/legs, but the pauldrons look dumb, the arms are in terrible poses, and the skull-face head just.... .... it looks awful. Ever since I touched the posessed box: I've not been able to build zerkers on their own, I've always mixed them with possessed and line marines, which leaves me enough parts to make more than enough berzerkers.

I just checked the pictures, and they all show the old power plants that need work to make fit. Looks like wherever you see the current power plants, it's the GW team having gone and done some kitbashing.

Yea, the box art for bezerkers has the newer style packs. I bought a box of zerkers years ago when the box was the painted picture not the models and it was old style backs, so when I saw the new picture on the box had the newer back I was excited, Im just happy gw was amicable in the situation.

Alot of people think bezerkers are ugly, that perplexes me I quite like them except the skull head (it is really bad)

I don't think any of the Berserker boxsets include the newer backpacks. The models pictured on the box have been used in some promotional images, but as far as I know they're just on the box to make the kit seem more up to date. Which is to say that they may have replaced the kits and you bought an older piece of stock, or they didn't, and the customer service person was just saying whatever to get you off the line. =P

Thats what it seemed like to me too. in gws defence customer service has always come through and this was the first time ive even had to argue at all

probably because you were in the wrong in this case. The one time I had to call GW and complain, the guys were pretty good. Sadly, the quality of the finecast continued to be a drain. I sent them a letter, to which i've never received a response.... I've also stuck true to the word in my letter, unless things got better i wouldn't buy another GW product from GW. and It's been true. All of the GW stuff I've purchased is second-hand only. Sweeping finecast under the rug is not a solution. the resin is a decent quality.... blah blah blah.... old failcost argument.

I think you and I have a very different opinion of wrong then, if "Content of package may vary" in regards to getting the powerplants/backpacks pictured then wouldnt I be able to say the same about a miscast in your case? Im a firm believer that its on the company to provide the consumer with what they paid for and in my case I paid for the models pictured not some antique componets that arent even cast for these models. I dont think thats too much to want at all.

I note they have a new box. I've taken the effort of inspecting that box
1.) the front cover shows the backpacks as they are
2. The reverse shows the models with backpacks as they are
3. The website shows the models with the old picture showing the old backpacks--as they are
4. The khorne berserker kit has not changed for a very very long time.
All of these point to the failure on your par to accept that the khorne berserkers are old models, which includes the old backpacks. You paid for the models pictured on the box. The reverse of that box shows the old backpacks. Khorne berserkers are antique designs. You paid for antique models. End of story. In one respect, the two cases are very similar. In fact they are identical, you are sold on an image, and the product you get does not match expectations. The difference was I did my research, knew the risk, bought anyway because I liked the raptor model and was iffy on what would replace it. That bloke you called up though was not in any way obligated to supply you with replacement parts. You were warned on the box, and the box evens showed the real parts on the reverse.
I see you started gaming a while ago, so I'm really leaving this one on you, because you ought to know gw's MO and standard operating procedures by now. If you didn't, well... I hope you learned something.

While I respect your opinion I must object to points 1 & 2 and point 4 has no bearing on the conversation as the box has been updated since i last purchased bezerkers so it doesnt seem like a stretch that the kit was updated too.

Now, I return to points 1 & 2 the box shows current edition powerplants, including a detail shot of one on the reverse.
Whether or not he was obliged to replace the parts wasnt on either of us to judge, that was his call and he decided to replace them to my delight, I feel it was fair and am pleased. Now I also know that despite the box and price being updated the kit is not and now I have realistic expectations for the future.

Like I said I feel that Gw did right by me and I am pleased, Im sorry that you feel I have somehow cheated the system but as this is a non-Starter I guess that is that.
