has the new swarmlord been nerfed?

No Biomancy and no messing with invulnerable saves has taken much of the bite out of him.

Eldrad with fortune can literally punk almost every big beastie in the game. A re-rollable 3+ invul gives him a 89.8% chance to tank any wound coming at him.

Iranna.

Even with Shadows, Eldrad has ~75% to pass this first failed Fortune test due to Runes of Witnessing and a further 56% chance each subsequent time.

With Prescience and Fortune, Eldrad has a good chance of killing Swarmy in one turn.

Iranna.

Edit: dont forget Swarmy has a 4++, and Eldrad has only 3 attacks on charge, so you better make that unsaved wound.

Eldrad is a beast with his AP3 force weapon, but 2+ save chars are his undoing in cc. Still, he can mind war them more than 3 times if he gets lucky on generating those warp charges, right?

No, because you can't cast the same power twice in one turn.

A good Tyranid player will only engage Eldrad in melee with the units they want to fight him.

On the other hand... He's going to get frustrated at potentially critical moments.. and that will really be too bad for him,

Really not a relevant comment. The question is "If they got into combat, what would happen?" Not "would this ever happen?".

Karandras=Low chance (depends on luck of who kills who)
Asurman= only leadership check. That is the only way
Eldrad= if powers you want go off and you have them. Need luck.
Autarch/Farseer= Fat chance.

As eldar range is better, and CC specialist are the king of what they do, but taking on monster Hq's is not one of our specialties...
So jump in the webway and run away.

Dont underestimate the tooled up Autarch with Jetbike, laser lance who shoots and then charges in. If you give him the Shard of Anaris, he may even make it (rending, ID) because of striking first in all combat phases, and Swarmie doesnt have S8 to insta-kill him (I think...not sure what his boneswords do)

Also, Autarch's don't swing before Swarmlords.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Also, Autarchs are probably just speed bumping in the round they get hit. also... Phoenix Gem. So fun.
