It's very possible to combine the era books since as far as we know there's very little that has changed in the 1.000 years between them but then again it will leave less room for such changes to be added. I'd prefer there to be two separate books but I can see I'm in minority here.

Hi there we announced in tonights update that we'll bump the core book up by 100 pages when we hit the next goal and unveiled these tasty Heretics (will be a set of 5 for £15).

I'm more of a fan of a complete one-book solution, my self. They can always expand specific eras out in greater detail later. So long as the overviews given for each area give enough info to play then I'm cool with the core book getting beefed up.

I like the idea of playing in the earlier eras of the game since they offer a lot of unique play opportunities, but including the "modern" era in the game is a good step that will allow people greater flexibility out of the core. I know most of us nutters will grabbing all of the books anyways, but a more complete core will be a boon to non-backers down the road (especially lapsed fans who didn't find out about the new edition until after the KS).

And from the sounds of things the character packs for the corps will be three figures. Since Warzone tends to mount Lords/Warlords on 40mm bases my guess is they will be a bit bigger and/or come with a greater amount of options.

I'm kind of hoping this is an opportunity for Prodos to release some nice hero kits for use with the custom character system in Warzone as well as something for the RPing crowd. I can't wait to see the hero conversion rules in the RPG as well.

I honestly can't wait for the twisted marionette to show up! Thats going to be one hell of an awesome Miniature. The art work alone is one of my favorite new pieces to surface from the KS.

I think there was going to be beta rules posted soonish (can't remember if they said it was this weekend or the next).

I'm more interested in setting material. Not like I'm going to actually sit down and play a pen and paper RPG these days, so rules are of no concern to me.

As an aside, the last thing that has to be done is someone to pick up Doomtrooper and Dark Eden CCGs and run a KS campaign for a digital client version of either or both.

Yes they'll be a pdf beta with some storyline content and art in a couple of weeks (being worked on now) and then excerpts of content in the kickstarter updates (which are open for anyone to read) over the next week or so.

The far north

I wonder how much of the character creation system that will remain from the original RPG. It was one of the best parts of the old game, since it created a background for the character at the same time as it determined the stats. Gave a lot of flavour to the game.

We're going to have a much improved version - I loved it as well and intend to give it a lot more flavour, bring out the storyline more, more dangerous events from pushing your career path too far and more bonuses for starting early and foregoing the career path. You'll also have a point buy system for people who really want a certain character type.

Yeah, it was a great system, but it could definitely use some improvement around the edges where it comes to starting party balance. Social Standing tended to be pretty random and had a huge influence on how one could build the character with the difference between the worst and the best being the difference between having a couple thousand crowns to having tens of millions. And of course, one could generally grind a single career pretty hard and become a god in terms of skill-levels (and this could help make up for any sub-par stats you may have rolled).

So something normalizing (or eliminating) the randomness of Social Standing and breaking career progression up a bit should make for something a bit more balanced and also a bit more varied and fun. My favourite Mutant Chronicles and Traveller characters were always the ones who went down an interesting mid-line path with a lot of interesting twists than the ones where everything went right (or the ones where things went terribly wrong). Can't wait to see what you come up with.

And a point buy system as an option is a good plan for some campaign archetypes.

The old system was also lacking when it came to rolling up npcs. It was very tailored towards rolling up PCs.

Yes we are doing a points buy system as well as the classic Lifepath - I loved that so am focusing on making it more balanced, more flavour, more interesting so really dangerous stuff can happen if you push your character too far (you'll also have less 'Chronicle Points' that are kind of the luck points of the game but also let you do really mental cinematic stuff) but the dangerous stuff will just make you more interesting and unusual as a character. We've got a huge playing field for this so I think you'll love what we're aiming for.

NPC's in the new system are super easy plus alongside the random adventure generator will be a system to quickly develop npcs - i'd love to get this in to app form so we'll see how far we get with the goals!

here's the latest info - the Twisted Marionette has been signed off so we should have the final sculpt to show off tomorrow or monday!

In the meantime we've blown through the £53k level and about to unlock the Imperial Guide but tonight showed off the first of the space ship concepts and the big range of Mutant Chronicles t-shirts

We just unlocked the full 248 page Dark Soul Guide and our latest Mutant Chronicles Kickstarter update showed off the first of the cool new character concept art of Detective Vance Ryder of Luna Police Department by Jeff Porter with some intro fiction. I think he's going to make a great miniature what do you think? We also announced our awesome Kickstarter exclusive of the Luna PD badge (made by Campaign Coins in Australia) plus a Luna PD Exclusive custom d20 for £20. Whilst Luna PD is technically under the auspices of Capitol is it in fact staffed by people from all corporations and is a focus of investigations during the Dark Symmetry Period…

Are you sure this is the marketing of an RPG and not a skirmish miniature game? Recycling 20 year old covers but showing new miniatures every week?

Those 20 year old covers are better than most of what you'd see on the shelves these days. Not to mention way more expensive than a few 3d renders.
