As most of you will probably know, there is a huge variety of WHFB chaos armies knocking about tell me in the comments which one of these you like the most (I decided not to do a poll):
Beastmen

Skaven

Warriors of chaos

Chaos Dwarfs

Chaos daemons

I would love to know your preferred choice. It doesn't have to be about tactics; it can be about fluff, models and rules.

Cheers!

I've got Daemons of Chaos: Nurgle and Khorne, still trying to work out a good paint scheme for my Khorne miniatures, but I've got pictures of nearly finished plaguebearers in my gallery.

KHORNE IS THE ONLY ANSWER.

Rat people are cool too I guess.

Beastmen for me. I always loved their look, fluff and how they play(ed). The basic Gor had 2 wounds when I first played them!

The one piece of artwork that showed the destruction of the One Ones gateway in the distance with the first Beastmen being "born" in the foreground is the one visual I always conjure when an Army Book mentions the Old Ones and their destruction/disappearance.

I love playing with them, despite their books shortcomings.

They aren't but, reading between the lines.....

Clan Pestilens: Nurgle followers.
Clan Moulder: Slannesh inspired flesh warping.
Clan Skyre: Tzeenchian inspired warpstone powered war machines.

You don't even have to read between the lines. They have a fricken Daemon as a Lord choice. What you can read between the lines in is whether Great Horned is a Daemon of Nurgle. There is a spot for him on the map of the current Realm of Chaos. It looks like a gigantic rat underground city and Gnawhame and "Lair of the Thirteenth Lord." To me that's pretty clear.

I say WoC just because they have soooo many choices. About the only thing you can't do is a serious ranged/gunline army. But nearly every other combination that exists in the game you can duplicate in some for via WoC. So if you get bored of one strategy you can easily expand it.

Ill admit my specific knowledge of Skaven lore isn't particularly great, despite being aware of the obvious ties between clan pestilents and nurgle and the like. I think the links that Snurl proposed for Skyre and Moulder are somewhat far-fetched and that perhaps that is reading between the lines to the extent of making something up that isn't really there.

You could argue that many races have gods that may in fact be chaos gods manifesting themselves in other ways. Khaine, Gork and Mork spring to mind...

It is possible that i've read too many stories about Grey Seer Thanquol . Still, the parallels are there if you look.
A Hellpit Abomination would make a good Chaos Spawn, no?

There is also the Theory that the Great Horned rat was a Greater Daemon of Nurgle

I would have to go with Either Skaven or just some straight up warriors

Skaven because you gotta love the ratmen

Warriors because who doesn't love legions of Ironclad warriors of death?

I prefer Skaven by far. Along with Empire and O&G they are my favorite armies. I've played many different set-ups and had good and bad times, but always interesting games. Also cool models to collect, with countless choices for painting. A few words for every army.

Skaven: FUN, randomness, devastating mages

WoC: natural born killers, godly empowered, resilient

DoC: overpowered, flexible, expensive but strong lords-heroes

Beastmen: overpriced, hard to play, mages can boost them and make them destroy things

Chaos Dwarfs: boring, irritating, , evil dwarfs??? we serious?????

I made my choice several years ago when I started WoC, I have since then fielded DoC, Beastmen and Chos Dwarfs.
And my two favorits has been Chaos Dwarfs and Beastmen by far, in fact those two armies are my all time favorit WHFB armies of all time
