Alright folks! A month into this year already!

This might be a crunch month for some... ONLY 28 DAYS!

So what do you have in mind for this month hobby-wise? Got a certain model to complete? A unit? AN ARMY?! Maybe you want to get practice at a new technique.

Let us know!

Here's what I'm going to try for this month:

Terminator Captain with Storm Shield and Thunderhammer
Terminator Assault Squad all with Storm Shields and Thunderhammers
Mortan (Godslayer) Starter
Some sort of Cygnar Models - I'm switching from the Khador to Cygnar.
Maybe get more practice doing eyes whether they are on bare faces or helmeted ones.

Finish my FoW Strelkovy company, Just need some washes and some work on the bases.
Paint up my xmas gift Panzer IVs
I have a grounded railway carriage kit that's suitable for FoW so I'm going to build that up and see if I can come up with an interesting base for it.

If I have time I would also like to start working on some soviet AA half tracks.

busy (and short) month for me, so modest goals:

1. finish assembling and paint the 5-man LotD squad I'm already working on (3 of 5 assembled)
2. start assembly/magnetizing work on stormtalon

stretch goal: start painting stormtalon

Trying for a lot this month. Suspect I'll fail, but I'll have a go!

Paint 20 night goblins
Paint 10 savage orks
Paint 10 devastators
Paint 2 dakini tacbots

If I get all that done, prep and prime a squad or two from dust.

Looking to finally start up one of my Mantic fantasy armies. Shooting for a TTQ (possibly even dipped - gasp!) army that actually grows at a reasonable pace, so I'm starting with the army I care the least about - the elves - to test the waters (it's a pretty big paradigm shift, for me).

Feb. will be mostly about model prep (first two sprues clipped, just started cleaning mold lines), as I'll want at least a few small units ready to go if I'll be using assembly-line painting methods. Already have a Bones model basecoated (brightly) to test the dip, will work on wash recipes for mass production if that fails. Should fill up the month, for me.

I am hoping to get my entire army finished. I have like 40 space marines 2 land raiders, 2 storm talons, drop pod, razorback, predator, Stormeagle, 10 terminators, 3 dreadnoughts and I think thats it......big list to try and accomplish but I have the whole year to do it!

I'm going to modify my goal... I got a new list that I'm excited to get built.

This is still the same:

Mortan (Godslayer) Starter
Some sort of Cygnar Models - I'm switching from the Khador to Cygnar.
Maybe get more practice doing eyes whether they are on bare faces or helmeted ones.

But instead of the Terminators I mentioned above, this is what I'm going to try to work on:

A Captain in Power Armor with a jump Pack and Thunder Hammer (going to magnetize him so he can use other weapons)
A 5-man Assault Squad with the default Chain Sword and Bolt Pistol setup (going to magnetize the sergeant so he can use other weapons)

A squad of 6 Deathwing Terminators this month (odd number I know, but it fits my 1K list).

Stretch goals:
Complete squad of 10 Tactical Marines (made some progress on these last month)
7 more Deathwing Terminators (at least basecoat and armour highlights)
Prime, basecoat and armour highlights on a squad of 10 Tactical Marines
Basecoat and armour highlights on an already primed squad of 10 Tactical Marines

Big goals I know, but the basecoat and highlights are all airbrushed, so I figure it's more efficient to do these in bulk.

Is no fun, is no Blinsky!

OK I have the following

5x Rough Riders
1x 35mm Heath Ledger Joker (30th present for a friend)
Spartan Scenics starter kit
1x Tyrgon

That should do me for this month.

Finish DA DV Tac Squad #2 for my 500 point starter army
3 marines - white primed w/ heavy thinned paint for natural highlights
3 marines - army painter colored primer green with PolyShade Dip Shade
3 marines - primed black w/ zienital highlighting using airbush
1 sergeant - probably airbrushed

Stretch Goals:
Start on Rhino for Squad #2 (pristine finish with that "just out the manufactorium" smell)

My new years resolution was to do a minimum of 2 hours painting a week. Easy I know but it's taken me ages to get into the swing of actually painting my miniatures.

I'm intending to get my first 500pt army painted up and ready for the tabletop by the end of April.

This month I want to finish a 10 man tactical squad.

The begining of this year has already been a foul disgrace in the painting part of it. Got maybe two Steel Legion done. So i'm going to try to make the short month count.

I am going to start by fixing up my 3rd ed tanks for my first Marine army and try to strip the paint of a couple of them for re-painting. I want to finsh my second squad of the first platoon of IG, two guard and two on the heavy weapon. Then I need to base nine of them, got the sergeant done already. Depending on how that goes, I will try to finish the month out painting the Platoon Lt. and his men.

To stretch out this goal for Feburary I need to get an air compressor for my airbrush and try to paint the three Chimeras for the first Platoon completeing it. I then will try to start on my first of 9 Leman Russes.

Two goals for this month, I have a weekend away in the middle of the month which is a bit of a bugger as weekends are usually my most productive time:

1. Finish Tactical Squad (6 marines to go)
2. Build Vindicator

Stretch Goal

1. Start painting said Vindicator

Goals for this month:

1. Finish painting up my Riptide. I've magnetized the weapons so there's more than just the straight Riptide and I've been procrastinating forever getting them done.

2. Complete painting on 10 Firewarriors. I think I've still got at least another 20 sitting around so this will help make a dent in the pile.

3. Restore old IG Hellhound and complete the flame turret. Some bits were missing so hopefully the replacements are at least passable for the tabletop.

4. Take another crack at getting better quality photos of my models. Still playing around with camera settings and backgrounds so far my pictures have been passable but not great.

4. Paint my demo model from Wreck-age.

Stretch Goals:
1. Finish painting the rest of the Skorne models I own.
2. Finish painting the rest of what I own for PanOceania.

To update my status for February vows I got my second squad of Steel Legion done, went over board and finished building my Sentinals, and got the other 30 Legion cleaned up and put onto their bases. I got the air compressor and based two Leman Russes and my first Chimera.

Only halfway through the month so I will start working on my third Chimera conversion and get the other two based my army colors. Then plan to finish the platoon Lt that i've started.

Judging from the replies to this thread I can only assume I'm the only person who takes a month to paint 5 terminators. I wish I could bash out more but there simply aren't enough hours in the day, especially seeing as GW wants me to work all the hours god sends to be able to pay for their stuff

I'm with you there. I am amazed that I got four models done so far. Last month I only got two IG infantry done. Too much work and not enough play.

When I got back onto painting a year or so ago, I was unbelievably slow. It took me about three months to do 8 marines. I've since been working on my speed painting, and am averaging about 20 models a month.

Little late to the game, but better than nothing! I have actually found myself working on models again since I moved at the end of Christmas.

My goal for February is to finish cleaning/assembly of the 4 factions of Deadzone. Painting can come later (see: when I can afford paint)

I have the Rebs done, working on Marauders. These aren't going to be perfect beautiful models. The main mold lines are cleaned up and they will be quickly painted hopefully. I want a game I can play quickly, not one in 3 years when I finally paint it.

If I find time, I also will work on cleaning up my lab at work so I can airbush my Black Templars. Got a new airbrush and a bottle of minitaire raven black. Everything model wise is ready to be primed otherwise.

So, an ambitious month for me. My most ambitious, on the shortest month. Doomed to fail really, but I almost made it, and I got side-tracked with a couple of other projects that I got wrapped up, so not all bad.

20 night goblins - Done.

10 Savage Orcs - Done.

10 Devastators - Not finished. Basecoated and washed. Another few days required to get them finished up.
2 Dakini Tacbots - Not finished. Basecoated, washed and mostly highlighted. Bad OSL and details still needed.

On top of those bits, I also managed to:
Make a mat for Xwing

Make a piece of terrain for 40k

And finally, make a magnetic movement tray for my Savage Orcs

All in all, a damned productive month. In fact, its fair to say my most productive month ever!

I very nearly met my goals and I would have if it weren't for you meddling kids and your dog!... I mean... Work saw to it that I had less time for modelling.

The strelkovy are done, panzers and railway carriage are almost 100% done, just need matte varnish and a couple of finishing touches here and there.

Nowhere near enough time to work on the AA half tracks.

Alright, so I finished all my main goals, but only touched one of my models for my stretch goals. I say this is not bad, considering I focused on painting some of my Necromunda gangs and had schoolwork as well.
