I like the design but living in the land of the rising sun there are more mecha kits available in all kind of shapes and sizes.

28mm infantry is a possibility for the future, but at this moment that's just another item on a long list of "can you make this" and "I'd like to do that".
Mechs? Infantry? Vehicles? Multiple scales? A cohesive line or a collection of what's most demanded? There are no easy choices going forward, but what I do know is I/we are in no rush to get our next product out the door. We planned to have a nice break after pushing this Salamander out the door, but even it's success is a double edged sword that is forcing us to do more work than we anticipated.
The 15mm stretch goal soldier is something we think will complement those looking to make a nice display of the Salamander, whether that including the troops on the same base or in proximity.
I want to make a nice figure for my Elemental power armor design, but that project needs a lot more time and care, rather than being pushed through concept and modeling stages within mere weeks.
So, 28mm is a definite possibility. Coming soon? Nope. Going to be an extensive line? Not likely.
As for availability, yes, the Salamander and all it's add-ons will be available post KS. Our intent here was to use kickstarter to get a nice launch and to immediately cover setup costs. Instead we have the flood of purchases you see now, totally unexpected. For example none of the add-on designs existed until day two after launch, all on the fly here.
Planned regular cost should remain at $35 shipped in the US, unless the production drive of this campaign reveals that we need to adjust that.
What's for sure is that you won't get a deal like what the KS offers ever again. We're taking quite a large hit giving out all those free add-ons, not to mention the extreme value offered in the squad option by default.
There may be a bulk purchase discount in the future (don't quote me) but nothing as aggressive as this.
Totally understandable that many will prefer to wait for community reviews before purchasing, and I'd say follow your gut there, personally I don't like to pre-order things either.
For those yet to run the math on the current deals:
Planned post KS price = $35
Anticipating the stretch goal we'll hit tomorrow:
Single Salamander with 2 $3-5 add-ons for $35. (Actual value = $41-$45)
Salamander Squad with 3 rifles, 5 $3-5 and 2 $3-10 add-ons for $90 (Actual value = $135-$159)
So, nothing exclusive for the KS, just really good deals.

I'm perfectly happy with my Kickstarter exclusive being a "good deal."
By all means, take your time on things. I have no problem with a line of sci-fi boutique miniatures that cover multiple scales and have no real accompanying rules.

The sketch of the infantry looks interesting, more real in their proportions and not as "fat" as 15mm usually is. If they truly are 1/100 in scale i would like to get some to use as scale men for architectural models...

Yep, I'm gunning to keep them close to normal proportions, and hopefully with Chris' knowledge we'll get them very close to properly scaled.

Good thing Paulson is finally getting the Mecha Front line rolling again.
I'm sure he'll keep producing (and I'll keep designing) if the fans keep buying. The weak release of the Goshawk shut him down for a while.

I just popped over to post that, beat me to it.
Came out pretty awesome, though it still needs to be smoothed out for mold making.
For anyone still left wondering, what you see in that photo (minus the rifle) is a "Basic Salamander". I doubt too many people will be assembling them "basic" though with all the free add-on parts.

Damn straight it's posing with a Zeon pilot.
Really not sure how I want to paint mine. Do I do it up to match my Enforcers for Deadzone, or do I go old school and toss some Zaku green on it?
I know if I got a squad one's going to have to be in salmon pink with a commander head...
I'm going to also need to remind myself that this is not a articulated model kit and that I am not going to be able to "play" with it as vigorously as my Bandai and Koto stuff get manhandled.

I'm really excited about these. Been hoping for some last minute stretch goals to come up. But knowing my luck, I'll be asleep by the time they get announced so I'll end up after the campaign trying to reshuffle what I want.
This is a problem I can cope with however

The way I read their updates, they've met all their goals and won't have any more, so as to not overreach and be subject to Kickstarter Backlash.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm going all out in my investigation work and thought I'd look here for help.
As backers of this KS are probably aware, the Salamander project received a lot of funding. Though this elevated scale of production caused delays, we had all the masters made and most of the final resin castings done.
Unfortunately there's a big problem. For the last month Chris Gotcher (the guy running it all) has been off the grid, no contact with me or any of the subcontractors involved in production, nor any general internet presence. He isn't answering his phone, and product shipments to his home have bounced back to at least once subcontractor.
It's hard to truly confirm what's happened to him, but the "ran with the money" theory doesn't seem to fit, seeing as almost everything has been made, just waiting to be shipped.
So, getting to the point. I have made contact with the caster who made all the basic Salamander kits and he's willing to work with me, but I'm unable to locate the caster/s that were assigned add-on parts. In order for me to salvage delivery operations I want to gain control of those add-ons.
I'm asking as many people as I can involved in the minis biz to help me find these casters. If you know anything, let me know.
And just in case you're unsure where I fit into this project. The miniature is my design and falls under my own IP, the Rangers Project, so I'm about the only guy who can take this thing over and finish it for the backers.

Thanks for being understanding guys. It is pretty concerning to see Chris vanish like this. Luckily it seems a fair number of those that dispute their charges are getting their money back. I'm hoping we'll hit the right balance where enough people do charge-backs that we have enough basic stock to cover the rest. It'll be a shame if we don't track down those add-ons though.

I a lot of cases though, they were freebies, so since we didn't pay for them, you can chalk it up to "cosmic balance" or some such concept. Don't laugh.
If you do find out where the masters were sent, you'll get them back and we'll get the add-ons eventually. Like I said, hit me up for shipping. You're not the bad guy (not saying Chris is either, it's just fething weird)

True, but between getting nothing and getting something less, I choose the latter. Especially since less is not quality, but quantity wise. To each his own, of course. That's just my stance in this particular case.

Fine. I just feel it's good to keep pinging a few reminders that we're actually owed *all* of what was promised, not part of it - there's a bit of the usual KS creator sanctification going on in the comments even now, IMO.

Yep, you definitely are entitled to everything you pledged for, that's something that you have to dispute against Chris Gotcher though. He has whatever remaining funds there were, some of the castings, the original masters, and the contact details for the production subcontractors. I only have the list of backer orders. and contact with one subcontracted caster who happened to cast most/all of the base Salamanders, but some of those he'd already shipped to Chris.
Where I come in is shifting this from getting potentially nothing from Chris, to something from me. I may own the IP, but other than being a concept artist and assistant 3D modeler, I'm not the person responsible for this KS. So no, I probably can't fulfill everyone's orders fully, but some would rather get something than nothing.
For those that wouldn't back this project without getting their full set of rewards, you'll be able to dispute the charge and get a refund, assuming your bank doesn't suck.

I checked over what I'd put in on this one and apparently the only extra cash I spent was for the infantry. Everything else I was getting aside from the robot itself was freebies. I know you mentioned in the KS comments that it might not be possible to actually get them done now and I'm fine with taking a $6 hit or however much they cost. I'd just like to get the robot. If you managed to produce the vulcan, commander head, and the jump pack, even better.
I was thinking about trying to get my money back, but since it looks like you're going to try and deliver it yourself, I'll just stick with it. And, if you do manage to at the very least get the standard rifle done, I'd be more than happy to take that over the vulcan rifle I was going to get.

Looks like a visit from the police smoked him out. He lost his job and was hiding away until he got things sorted. A very bad PR move I've told him, but at least he's back. He should post an update to the KS tomorrow.
