4 Havoks with 4 autocannons is what I'm adding to my army, that's (8) STR 7 AP 4 shots going down range. It cost less than a forgefiend, -1 STR, same AP, but longer range and a higher BS.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |

I would go for 2x2 oblits and a las-predator. That's 444 with MoN. But AC havocs can be consodered a great choice. Especially against AV 10-12 spam..

I use a Tri-Las Predator. It packs a punch and I love tanks. However, if I was more concerned about winning, I'd take the Obliterators for versatility. Havocs are nice, but in my meta S7 AP4 is mediocre.

Most of these are pretty solid options. That helbrute build is a bit to expensive for my taste but to each their own. I prefer my shooty brute with RAC+ML, cheaper and 2 twin linked shots is pretty reliable for taking off some hull points. Also it pairs better with the ML being not a complete waste to shoot at some infantry like the las would be. He's not a huge threat but that makes him not a huge target. Mine can often wander around plinking off hull points or weakening some elite-ish infantry without drawing much attention.
Wf gargoyle and lascannons don't really mix, not really sure what you're going for there.
4 AC havocs can dish out some hurt but keep in mind that they are the least maneuverable of the options and thus require more strategic use. This is why the forgefiend is expensive, it can move and shoot its 8 shots.

I wouldn't. I realize you're trying to keep the points even to compare but honestly lower cost is what makes some of the pred builds usable. hvy bolter + AC is ok but i'd leave off all the other options, especially gargoyles, they just kinda... well, suck

The pair of Obliterators are so versatile. Deep Striking them is fairly safe, they are really much harder to kill than it seems they would be (I nurgle mine up) and they have a miriad weapons to meet pretty much any challenge.

Helbrutes are okay if you need a cheap backfield defender and some lists do well to have one. So I think Trash is relative to the role you want it for. Front liner? No way. Fire support? Not bad. Back end defender for perhaps less capable forces: superlative. Dreadnoughts are much better now that the proliferation of Power fists has become reduced. units like Warp Spiders cant deep strike and then priortitize the way they'd want to because the helbrute will wreck them and Pod armies have to come in and spendall those points to kill... A... helbrute? Bummer.
Helbrutes are best with a second "assistant" unit. i have started learnign how to make use of the much maligned Mutilators and a Mutilator would eb an ideal "assistant' unit for the Helbrute.
But I'd probably never prefer it to Mark of Nurgle Obliterators for fire support unless I was strapped for slots... or strapped for points which could happen.
