Hi all, thanks for the comments!
I'm trying to answer all your questions, I hope don't forget any!

@highlord tamburlaine:
We'll show the weapons concep arts for The Council and Uruhvel along these days.
In one of the questions in the campaing FAQs we have more information about poses. I'm copying it. If you still have any concern, please tell us!

"Not really.

The process of creating a new miniature goes through converting the concept art to a 3D render. Because of that, the render image will have a mostly "neutral pose", to allow the artist add the maximun amount of details easily.

After all the work is done, it is easy to set different "action poses", previous to the 3D printing.

We want our backers have an active part of the decision making for the poses, so any ideas, images, or anything that would help us to bring life to our miniatures, will be taken into very high consideration."

@-iPaint-:
Uruhvel will also have female units with her whole body covered by armor and even heavily armored.

@basement.dweller:
You can find additional information for this model in this link:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/846779

@JoshlnJapan:
Thanks for your support! If we get enough support new factions will be unlocked.
About shipping: In the campaign information there's a shipping costs approach. Each of our figures weighs between 8 and 15 grams. Basing in your comment, we estimate it would be about £5,4.

@cincydooley:
We're trying to have an image as you're asking as soon as possible.

@paulson games:
Thanks for the tip!

-----------------------------

Civilian unlocked !

Every pledge level "Combat" or superior, will receive a free "Civilian" miniature.

Civilian will be at your disposal as an ADD-ON, for an additional pledge amount of £5 - (NPC, 25mm round base)

This miniature is used to represent a target in some missions, having active part on them.

That sounds great. I backed this project for two starters. Any rough sketches of releases, like Darklands did(Mierce) did? Yeah, we all know about the past mis-deeds of Mierce (I don't want to start that here), but if it is one thing they know how to do is release art and rough sketches.

Sculpts would alo be greatly appreciated...but they are moot with no concept art? Is there any place we can see/read about the races (even the un-arted ones)? You can even have the backers vote on which race to release next?

I came from the Pacific, so I love and use the Metric, but is there any way to convert the measuring unit to the Imperial (inches) for the sake of ease?

More questions to come. I may also post these in the Backer comment section. Thanks.

I apologize for the edit:
About the Uruvhel...I understand the the beauty of the female form. However, having a family...I do not feel comfortable handling/owning minis that are quite scantily clothed. Furthermore, having experienced combat, there is really no reason to be that exposed. Would there be any possibility on armored Vanguards?

When you make the heavily armored female Uruhvel I'd also consider making less clothed males. I think it would balance them out aesthetically.

They don't have to be pin ups for girls since that won't make any money (the girls aren't overtly sexy, they're just a bit nude), but guys with at least bare torsos or something. Maybe just like a carapace loincloth thing like the girls have. I like the female designs, I just think it would be weird if both genders weren't almost naked. Especially if they're the sort of genetically enhanced futuristic race. I mean what do they need clothes for? They're obviously bad ass genius warrior supermodels. They'll just grow a flak jacket when they start getting shot at.

I'm thinking for a male character we can just have Roman sandals, a gold codpiece and iron nipple spikes (that can shoot out).

Flack jacket? Ha! real men only use sun block.

Yeah, but then, those spikes are one-use. If they truly are genetically modified, there is only one solution:multiple niples....
Wait....two solutions: regenerating ones.

Make the cod piece with a folding, hidden weapon and we can talk movie deals.

In all seriousness, the objectification and misrepresentation of the female form is getting old. I can see it in Infinity as they less-than-subtly stated "based on anime" in some of their older intros. However, advanced civilizations should be intelligent enough to see the need for clothing especially in hostile environments. Just my 2cents.

since none of the female models ave sculpted I'm really hoping there will be a redirection in execution for the female models.

I can see having a little sexy as that can be a big seller, but currently it is over the top.

People are backing it at a pace that got it funded quickly and the totals are still going up.

I guess the look resonates with some/many.

Perhaps you haven't seen this?

Or this?

Exposed midriff is a pretty standard thing in North American society nowadays. I would hardly characterize it as "over the top"

I assume you're referring exclusively to Uruhvel faction in your comments. I'm happy with the concept art and will be interested to see what changes they implement between now and the final castings.

I gotta agree with the whole half naked models being ridiculous. I mean Infinity is pretty offensive but this managed to be worse.

Where are all of you guys/gals in the Kingdom Death Monster thread? If you are offended by the objectification of women, you are missing the giant phallic elephant in the room.

I'm aware of the Council female models, part of the reason I am contributing. Just not a huge fan of Uruhvel females.

As for being offended or think it is objectifying women, that is not the case and I am really tempted to start putting this in my sig as I have to type every so often.

When playing a war game, I like to see my male and female models outfitted for war. If the entire made up culture had skimpy clothing, such as a barbarian race I could see.
There is a degree of "sexiness" I don't mind, but pasties and a thong to war is not even trying.

I don't mind porn, women in bikinis on billboards and I love women in yoga pants. I also don't mind nude or near nude miniatures, I believe those type of miniatures are best fit for an alternative model as a "pin up" better suited for display rather than war gaming.

Not offended, I just like to see all my models prepared for combat.

As for Kingdom death, some great models, other times I feel like I stumbled on a Japanese website.

Kingdom of Death is beyond hope in that regard. I'm hopeful this project isn't though and the designers might be willing to listen and change.

Why would they need clothing? They're aliens. They're into Biotech. Why would they use textiles? They have skin for that. Humans only wear clothing because we're a tropical species that is sensitive to cold (we will die of exposure at like 10-15 Celsius) and most but not all humans have this weird social shame about nakedness. If they like the cold and aren't afraid of being naked, they should be naked. If they're afraid of getting shot at they obviously have armor. They're not wearing a silly chain mail bra, they're just nude. Presumably the coverings of their erogenous zones could be for the simple reason that those areas are sensitive and might need clothing or their breasts might need some support.

If you imagine a species which has a shame about its head being bare then the most important article of clothing for such a species would be a hat. They could be fully naked elsewhere because those areas aren't taboo. If they have a foot fetish and a foot shame then maybe they'd keep their feet covered.

While I'm not going to complain if aliens are similar to humans, after all we are (despite some arguments to the contrary about rubber forehead aliens) a reasonable template for what sophisticated tool using intelligence in the universe will be like, it seems silly to be surprised if they don't think or act exactly like us.

Forgive me for not buying into the exploitation of women nonsense. What is being misrepresented? Last time I checked woman (and men) have a number of characteristics which we can quickly use to identify their gender. Logically its easier to present fictional fantasy races or species in the same way. Yeah we could use the sexual tells of non human animals but that will probably be lost on the audience or just look silly. I'm not sure I want my warriors to look like cockatoos.

Kingdoms death is unique and fantastic in that regard. I hope the designers don't listen to you a bit.

@Piston - completely agree for front line troop type dudes. I'm actually okay with the non-combat roles wearing something a little different, especially when this is a smaller scale skirmish.

Personally I'm waiting to see the bugs and any more reptilian stuff, as always.

Curious as to what the bio organic weapons will look like. I hope to see some funky looking melee weapons!

Sounds like a Robert Munsch book for miniatures hobbyists!

And from an interesting recent update:

Status Report [1]

After two exciting days of campaign, we want to share with our dear backers the status of the works being done.

At the very moment that we reached the campaign's goal, we started to move things:

- Alexander Pascenko received the instructions to finish the concepts for The Council and Uruhvel remaining units.

- Questron, the studio in charge of the 3D modeling process, started with the two additional postures of the Fusilier and the Vanguard render. We are in constant feedback with them, so you will be notified in any progress, at the very moment we receive images or updates.

- We are working in having a finished cast of the Civilian as soon as possible, and even try to have it painted.

- Additionally, our backup designer, Marcos Raya, known for his amazing artworks, is on the design table with the instructions we gave to him, to release as soon as possible concept arts for the third faction of Last Saga. You can see some of his works in the following link:

TitanFall: Cómo dibujar bien https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miX0dRXr864

- Also, the great sculptor and better friend Mati, wanted to take part supporting our campaign, so he is working in the miniatures for the fourth faction. We show you here a sneak peek to his amazing work, preview of what comes next:

New faction WIP

New faction weapons

- We will in the future provide miniatures of both genders to represent units in Last Saga. This can be seen in the exclusive Kickstarter miniature, the female version of the Manticore.

- And finally, we are working on the remake of the next stretch goals of the campaign, of course from the current state, not changing anything of the currently unlocked. This is a HUGE change, so it will require a careful planning. Basically we want push the release of the new factions, being them the next stretch goals. We will give details about this shortly, but please comment with your thoughts about that.

The Rocket Games team will keep working hard!

Thank you very much!

Not sure if it's easy to see or not (the screen on one of my laptops has colour issues) but the guns the figure is holding are photoshopped in. I assume it's because they will be 3D printed later then added in order to finalize the sculpt and maintain a standard design for the other faction models.

[quote=
As we promised, here you have the updates for the last steps we're doing in the Last Saga development.

From tomorrow, we will reorganize the stretch goals to put in frontline the starter packs for the next factions, as it is what you are requesting the most, thought kickstarter comments and in rest of our social media.

Here you have a preview of what you'll see in the next days.

The first thing we show you is the concept of a unit of the Raiders of Saanar faction, a race of adventurers and outlaws willing to not let go any loot.

This is a preview of our process for designing units. First, illustrators make some quick sketches to find an aesthetic in general that fits our idea. What you can see here are the first shots of the Guardians of Tanaor.

GUARDIANS OF TANAOR The home planet of the guardians is near the center of the galaxy, in the Scutum Arm. The First Watcher governs from there, ruling over a range of lineages who worship honor and family. Wielders of the highest technology in the galaxy, they succumb to arrogance and ostentation, seeing the other races as mere barbarians and lesser beings, treating them in a cold and polite way in the best cases.

More progress on a new sculpture in which is working our good friend Mati (Badsmile) as personal collaboration to this project.

Tomorrow we reach the first week of launching the campaign and we will continue working hard thanks to your support to help us making Last Saga an exciting universe and game.

3rd Race.
