I'm not quite convinced about the legs, but the rest looks good on the sprue pics soI'm probably up for grabbing a box too

Having a look at their other stuff, there's some cool bits and pieces on there. The Nothern Warriors are very Skyrim-esqe (which is awesome), but could certainly work for WFB Chaos Marauders or possibly even a less-cultured Empire army. The Skellies are a very different style to Mantic (lots of heavy armour) but still look very cool, and there's also some pretty interesting scythe-wielding necromancer-ghost type things that are unusual to say the least. If I played fantasy games, I'd certainly be putting an order their way.

Those are certainly very gnarly, and the price point is damn nice. Goodly amount of modularity, and far less goofyness than in the GW versions. You could do headswaps if those horrifyingly toothy visages weren't to your liking. but I think it lends them a cannibalistic je ne sais quoi.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Those pics are much better, can actually see the things now. Added to OP!

I think I'll be buying these once they hit UK distribution, might headswap for better mixing in with my mantic stuff, will get a couple of boxes. 4 banners will definitely be useful for converting army standard bearer minis.

A 40K feral ork army based on savage orks has been on my list of maybe projects for a long time. I'd say it just got a bit closer.

Fantastic! I would buy these out of principle anyways just to support anybody that is willing to put out fantasy troops in injection plastic, but as an added bonus, I think these look great.

I will likely paint them up with red or very pale blue skin (or both!) as some sort of demons/ghouls. I love the heads. Hopefully they can get some distribution in the US.

I concur, in fact I think the teeth are what sell the models to me.

Sweet.

Hm? What's that? You...you want me to... buy you?

Well, once they hit the Troll Trader or Firestorm, I guess I really have no option, do I?

Here's my quick photoshop attempt to make these look even more horrific:

I love those orc-demons. I can't wait to buy some and paint them some nongreen color!

Does anyone know if they will be sold through US distributors or retailers?

I would say that what makes them look really horrific, apart from the fangs and crude weapons, is the absence of pupil in their eyes. With a pupil painted, they will still look savage, brutal and wild enough, while not looking so devilish.
Really nice looking figures.

It would be very interested to have a picture of one of them next to a Mantic and GW ones for scaling comparison. Eh..Shieldwolf? Would that be possible?

These are a great alternative, half the price for a more or less comparable product. Looking forward to seeing what they tackle next in plastic.

Definitely. The skull-like faces are great.

They look good. Might buy some since they are only slightly less good than the GW savage orcs (wich i find awesome), at nearly half the price.

Those orcs look pretty nice, glad to see they are releasing some good products (well at least based on the pictures on their site) as when I first saw this company they were only selling those skeletons which to me are awful.

Interesting points about the demonic look of them (I hadn't noticed that before). I think that, from what we've seen of Mantic's Abyssals (concept art and a few sculpts) these could make very nice Abyssal troops when in non-orc colours/

That's what it seemed like to me from the painted pics. I'm not surprised to see that, though I agree it is somewhat unusual.

I really like the lack of lips... almost as if it is a right of passage for their tribe or something.

They really are fantastic models. Cheap, Plastic, Good sculpt... Amazing a company can make a model which fits all these metrics without needing a Kickstarter in today's age.

The question is: Why is this base level of model not accessible to all companies? Anyone who makes something worse in sculpt, cost or material than this is a failure in my book.

They've clearly rolled the dice

If they sell well (and continue selling) Shieldwolf will be well set to grow

If they underperform it could sink them

This is exactly the case. The risk is quite big. I really hope them to do great. Such kind of braveness and vision has to be successful!
I will give these orcs a try. I would like to see their size next to the big competitors.

That sounds like quite a good idea for them, and of course they'd make a fine destination for the Various Savage Orc tribesmen heads from Maxmini, Kromlech, et al.

Shipping from Shieldwolf is quite reasonable with most of Europe at a flat rate of 3,90 € and the rest of the world at 5,90€. I am tempted to pick up a box of Orcs when they are released and some of the trolls. I have no idea what to do with them though.

Just a thought, isn't 20 resin miniatures for 20 € very cheap?

These are definitely a fine alternative to GW's Savage Orcs. Nice!

They're not resin, they're polystyrene (ie the same stuff as GW uses)

(but they're cheap for that too)

there's actually a few units of 20 resin minis up for sale for either €20 or €25; I've been eyeing those skellies with interest.

Wasn't talking about the orcs, there are other regiments on Shieldwolf's site that cost 20 € for 20 miniatures, supposedly in resin.
