So I've been out of the loop for WM for a while, and I'm starting to think that maybe WM is what I want to maintain as my Non-GW game. There is just no one else that plays Heavy Gear!

I'm contemplating running either Khador, Cygnar or Protectorate. I'm looking for decent 25-30 point lists for all three based around certain themes.

For Khador, what would a decent 25 and 30 point Karchev list look like?

For Cygnar I'm really liking either a trench infantry type army or a Storm Lancer type army.

For Protectorate, I like Kreoss and his merry Exemplars.

I know that it's asking a lot, but I'm really trying to get as much info as possible before I make a decision! Thanks in advance!

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

If you want to run a bunch of Exemplar, you'll want Kreoss2. Specifically his theme list.

25-30 is a weird point value. People tend to play 15 or less while learning the game, and then 35 or 50 once they have graduated from that.

A decent 35 point Tier4 list for eKreoss would be

eKreoss
-Fire of Salvation

max Bastions
max Errants with UA
Knights Exemplar
Knights Exemplar

Bastion Seneschal
free Exemplar Seneschal(tier bonus)
Vassal Mechanik

For 50 you'd add,

Knights Exemplar
max Bastions
Exemplar Errant Seneschal

At tier 4, you get another 2" of deployment and advance move on the Knights Exemplar. Plus the free seneschal and FA:U on Knights Exemplar.

Do note that outside of eKreoss's tier you will almost never run 3 units of KE. So its a very specific list, but a very good one.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

A 25 - 30 pt karchev list can have a couple styles. At this point level, it can be very effective to simply take 3 of our best jacks.

Karchev - +5wj
beast09 - 11
Spriggan - 10
Kodiak - 8

War dog - 1

This is a very simple list. Spriggan and beast are favored for their power output, reach, tools in dealing with multiple threats. Kodiak is taken for the steam cloud to grant concealment, pathfinder, and the ability to throw targets out of your way. War dog gives karchev a boost in defense in melee and blocks enemies from getting to his flanks. Karchev can actually have a really solid DEF in this list. He can gain up to +3 from sidearms and should have the extra +2 against range due to the Kodiak orfrom the wwar dog against melee. Potentially sitting at DEF 16 is a tough nut to crack at the 25 point level.

71 pts khador - 6 war casters
41 pts merc highborn - 3 warcasters

I'd suggest building for 35 points. Most people play 35 or 50.

For Cygnar, if you are looking for a decent competitive list I suggest you focus more on the storm knights than the trenchers. Trenchers are not unplayable, but you really need to know what you are doing.

For the Storm knights I would suggest eStryker or the new (not yet released) stryker3. Both like to load up on the storm-nouns. That said, depending on how you want to build the army you could use a lot of other casters as well. eHaley is good with a lot of stuff, but can make use of various storm-nouns and is deadly with a bonded stormclad.

If you like Storm Lances in particular it is rumored that Stryker3 will allow two units in his theme list. The book will be out in about 2 weeks. The model in about 2-3 months.
