There's a pic appeared on the net of a rebel aces box. Looks like a bwing and an a wing.

I'll upload and edit this post. (On phone so nothing is easy...)

Boom! Looks legit, but dunno where it came from.

The A-wing looks like Green squad colors, not sure about the b-wing, but it color me interested if it is real.

Could be fake, but it's plausible. A-wings are in a pretty bad position right now, the generic ones are mostly useful as blockers, while the aces are pretty much ignored because they're too expensive. A repaint would be a cheap and simple way of giving the A-wing a little help. And of course B-wings are awesome and will sell in large numbers, so putting more B-wing stuff in the box is a pretty sensible business choice.

It is sad though, that there's no Y-wing. I just want a Y-wing with an EPT slot!

Confirmed. And it looks like they realized A-Wings are weak-- there's an upgrade for an A-wing that costs negative 2 points but fills your missile slot!

That is AWESOME!

So could we see a X-95/A-Wing list, with the Z-95's acting as missile launchers and A-wings swinging in to clean up?

So I was wrong about the colors on the A wing, but the B-wing looks rad.

WOW.

New B-wing pilot = awesome. Suddenly the red maneuvers become free "focus" actions instead. And with advanced sensors you can barrel roll or target lock before moving, k-turn or sharp 1-turn, and have a "focus" on top of that.

A-wing title = game-changing. Yeah, you're still stuck with the same two attack dice, but every single A-wing above prototype pilot gets a free EPT. Double EPTs are going to be fun. And with a -2 point cost if you decline to use your missiles!

Well I guess I'll be getting a second a wing after all . Was going to get another b wing later anyway to go with my two now. I hope there's advanced sensors in the box.

Check out the last card in the first row of upgrade cards, and the first card in the second row of cards. It looks like Kyle Katarn and Jann Ors are both getting Passenger cards.

And the long-awaited question of what Keyen Farlander is going to fly has finally been answered.

HOLY SHIZNIT BATMAN! It's flipping amazing! Fantasy Flight, I love you, can I give you a hug?

I want two of this box and I don't know why, I like that you don't need two though. So the B-wing is getting a title that gives it crewman slot yes? If I'm seeing the pic right? I just want to know what Prototype Rockets do if I'm guessing their name right. Can't wait to see the rest of the contents!

...

Yes, yes it is. I'm sure it will cost points (the B-wing is already good enough that it doesn't need a free crew slot) and that will probably make it less appealing from a competitive perspective, but that is just going to be fun. C-3P0 for automatic evades, Chewbacca for even more HP. Even the basic 1-point intelligence agent is going to be amazing on low-skill ships, since you no longer have to guess where your opponent is going to move before committing to a barrel roll.

And did I mention Farlander as a B-wing pilot? It's like FFG asked "how can we make the perfect pilot for Peregrine", and then did it. I love my advanced sensor B-wings, and this is easily my new favorite pilot.

YES! I love me some repaints. FFG has figured out the perfect way to "edit" ships as the game develops.

I do think it's a bit weird that Kyle and Jan have cards in this set. Can someone explain that? Perhaps this is an "edit" aimed at the HWK-290 expansion?

This was kinda my feeling. No doubt super clever Fantasy has proved brilliant with the A-wing Refit and if we're right, making sure justice is done to some fan faves at least somewhere With Jan and Kyle. It also dips into what the Luke Crewmember card set up for the design space: get double duty out of characters. I'm curious if at some point their will be alternate ship versions of some pilots. Like Farlander could technically have a Y-wing card and X-wing card in addition. Could we anticipate future Aces expansions that rework the game every so often? Maybe "Rebel Aces 2: Underdogs" gives us a Z-95 and a HWK-290. Or a "Imperial Aces 2: Night Terrors" with a TIE Advanced and a TIE Phantom. I'd be down with that.

I doubt we've seen the last repaints with this set. It's just too good a method to revise the game's existing ships.

Read through FFG's release info yesterday and have to say, I am EXTREMELY excited with the direction this game is taking with this expansion.

Something wasn't built right for the game, even with playtesting? Oh, we'll fix it in an expansion and make it fun for all and make it you don't feel like you wasted your money on the expansion. WIN!

Exactly correct, FF. It's pretty cool that this pack has two different ships as well, which is more thematic for the Rebs (so fair play to FFG for the Interceptor 2-pack).

So, I'm looking at that and seeing that the set does not appear to include any cannon upgrades?

Hold your horses guys... while it is real, it is also expected in "4th Quarter 2014". Do you all remember what was expected "4th Quarter 2013" and just hit the shelves this week? Yes, Imperial Aces.

These do indeed look awesome. They will have awesome cards in them. Just don't hold your breath waiting for them.

As well as the Vader crew member card bundled with the Lambda. For the Rebels, it allows you to put people together who *should* be able to fly together on the same ship (running Kyle and Jan together, for instance). With Vader, it acknowledges the fact that the Dark Lord of the Sith is high-ranking enough that he's just as likely to be a passenger on a shuttle as he is flying his TIE Advanced X1.

I'm still gonna get excited over it.

Also, hopefully FFG has a better idea of how long it's going to take to get new products out for this line.

I wonder if Vader ever seizes the control of his shuttle.

"My lord, we're too close to that aster--errrrk."

"You have failed me for the last time."

Worst back seat driver ever.

It's hard to imagine Vader chilling in the Lamda jacuzzi while his shuttle gets taken apart by Rebs.

I wonder if it's possible to do a card showing Vader getting fed up with his flight crew and taking over.

I totally agree... Vader would be a horrible backseat driver.

I can't really see them putting large ships 2 to a pack... I can see repaints of HWK and Z-95's

It's possible though. Just look at the Imperial Guard TIE (Free Extra Upgrade). Admittedly, this is on the less-than-popular Interceptor as opposed to the already superb B-wing, but the possibility exists.

With the Caveat that we do not know point costs yet, I am thinking:

1) Intel Agent on a blue Pilot for interference (See where they are going, barrel roll into their path/to a better firing position).
2) Merc Copilot on an HLC porter, to just add a little bit more damage to those R3 shots.
3) Navigator on the Autoblaster Variants, just because that is even more mobility.

A-wing I am thinking Green with Title, Refit, Vet Instincts and PTL. 21pt, PS 5. I'd suggest that it would make a great ship for finishing off damaged enemies.

I love the blue paint job on the A-wing, but I'm not to sure about the brightness of the red for the B-wing.

Also, a rules update\errata for the A-wing that I actually don't mind paying for . It's shocking how easy it is to love FFG.

I think it's the picture and mock-up. According to the toy Dagger Squadron B-Wing(yes, I own it since I'm a toy collecting nerd, I just wish they'd released the other pilots since it comes with the stickers to make the B-Wing any of the 4 fighters) and the comic appearance, it's supposed to be closer to GW's "Scab Red".
