Okay so we have all seen the previews for the new IG codex. With this i saw my two IG regiments still in, (Tanith and Valhallans) being me i've been buying up all the last remaining stock on the site/ebay, but in the future will GW make them in plastic or just let them die and cause me trouble explaining to the younger people why my army is legal?

No idea at this point honestly. I haven't seen rumors either way on what will happen to those ranges in the future.

To be honest, that’s a good question. GW is obviously trying to get away from metal. But how many regiments are they going to make plastic kits for? The fact that there is more then one is frankly a bit surprising.

My guess is that eventually the metal kits are going to be dropped, and FW may pick up some of the lines in resin. There are already a few regiments over there now. But that’s just my guess, and precognition is not one of my better skills.

I think it's only a matter of time before the last of the metals are discontinued. I'm almost surprised to see the old metal guard are still available.

(Or were. It'll be the first thing I check when the new site goes live....)

At least mostly available. Most of the heavy and special weapon models are gone, as are the lieutenants.

I'm very doubtful that we'll see them in plastic, and if we do I'm concerned about the scale. The 3e plastics and their accompanying metal characters are distinctly larger than the 2e guard, so new plastics won't mix terribly well with existing units.

In so far as their legitimacy being questioned by newer players... those regiments are still pictured in the new IG codex so you can show them that... or just smack them on the head with it.

I think that even if he wanted to that there aren't that many companies (if any) actually sniffing around and waiting for a chance to buy.

2 out of 3 of the metal commissars are now showing as 'no longer available', at least on the UK site. Given what happened with the Ogryns I wouldn't expect the third of those to last much longer.

Other than that I don't see any changes to the metals on the new site.

I would say it is unlikely at best. But they may pick one of the factions to do a dataslate and then add one plastic kit for them. But even if they do a dataslate, they may not add the miniatures.

If they do plastic Vostroyans, you can start calling me a Guard (Astra Milita.....nm, Guard works) player

Plastic Vostroyans would be the best thing ever since the Dark Eldar update (maybe even better).

If another regiment of IG came out in plastic, I'd start a third IG army tomorrow.
