We'll see how soon it pops back in stock, I activated the notification option for the physical codex.

I was wondering if that happened a lot. I can't imagine MT would have sold as well had it been offered after the release of AM seeing as it's basically a slimmed down version with a couple of tweeked rules.

For the same price, no less!

IIRC the Iyanden supplement cost less than the Eldar dex at launch. This might also have been true of Farsight Enclave but I cannot remember.

No, Iyanden and Farsight supplement costed the same.
Haven't read yet the Farsight book, but I don't regret buying the Iyanden book because of its excellent fluff, even if 39€ is clearly a rip off.

I think this whole thing is just extremely cunning and astute marketing from GW.. they keep listing it 'in stock' 'out of stock' 'limited edition' 'not limited edition' - then laughing manically as what is essentially a non-story continues to stay at the top of the Dakka news and rumour pages.

I really liked the Iyanden book and have enjoyed the Knights book. And I want the Farsight book. But they are all just crazy expensive so I haven't gotten a few that I really would like to get, like the IH one and Farsight.

Farsight has excellent fluff, if you're a fish lover.

The Militarum Tempestus fluff is.. Funny. It's like they want these guys to be hardcore and space marines, but they can't be space marines, so they'll make them as dead-hard as they can without wearing power armour.

To give you an idea, traitors have taken over the defence batteries that keep the skies clear, Space Marines are like "NOPE!" and the Tempestus commander is like "Okay dudes, we're all volunteers, now get in the airlocks of this side of the ship and hold your breath." He then proceeds to void all airlocks on that side, blasting his men into orbit of the planet, which they survive thanks to their special uniforms and grav-chutes, enough numbers land alive to assault the defence grid and open the way for the rest of the invasion force. The space marine were impressed by the way.

I've thought about allying Marines with guard and using uparmored Guard models, either the dreamforge or anvil industries figures, and calling them my stormtroopers, cause I feel that way they would represent the fluff on the table......

I wish I could justify using Blood Angels, that way I could deepstrike them in (assault squads as troops), but BA have the special rules etc.

I just got around to reading Eisenhorn, and the way the one guy reacts to the Kasrkin....and knowing how their stats and performance are barely better in the game than normal Guardsmen.....

Don't forget Scholas have Servo Skulls that watch you sleep lest you have eye movements in your dreams that reveal traitorous or seditious dreams.

EDIT: Thinking about this "return" of the codex (maybe?) I sent an email into customer services last week basically pointing out that if they don't make the book more accessable people will just pirate it rather than spend $300 just to get a device to read the codex. I'm willing to bet other people may have too (and if they didn't they should just to drive the point home to whomever Customer Service forwards that feedback too). I'm not claiming credit, but I do think it's something that might help, even if it's only a little.

If you actually liked the Iron Hands before, give Raukaan a miss. They essentially put out a supplement exclusively to rewrite the IH as cybernetic emo Codex-adherent marines, it's an atrocity.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

I guess it goes to show that desperately seeking trademarkable names and renaming everything to Codex: Abra Cadabra and Codex: Astro Philharmonic might confuse all your existing customers...

I agree, it felt like Clan Raukaan was GWs way of having Iron Hands as the first founding chapter that unintentionally adheres to index astartes.

I have to say, these last couple of months have, for the first time, given me real concern about GW's future health.

Codex: MT itself was one thing. The fact that it was released a week before Codex: AM, alongside some of the first releases screams of intentional trickery.

Is that the motif GW is functioning under these days? Blatant attempts to mislead customers?

(For the record, yes, people should be aware of what they are buying, etc. etc. But what Manchu was saying about the GW rep makes me feel like GW itself is doing absolutely everything and anything to get money from people, and that makes me think that they are in some real financial trouble).

In other words: GW's marketing plot worked as planned to sell an otherwise unsellable product
Now wait for the last week of GW's financial year to see, if they plan another desperate money grab.

Natfka wrote:We heard several weeks ago that the Militarum Tempestus was going not going to be made anymore, and then suddenly we had confirmations that it was indeed going to be supported. The issue is whether or not people were going to need to rush to get the mini-codex or if they could wait. After all it was selling out in many places.

Some of this came from mislabeling on the website. Either its not available anymore, or its out of stock. We would as a community just like to know for sure.

Well, today within an hour or so of each other, two emails were received by the same person from two different Customer Service reps, each answer different. Here are the responses....... with names of the representatives removed.

Many thanks for your email and we do apologise for the long delay in responding to you. Since the new web store launched we have received a large increase in both calls and emails.
Unfortunately we no longer sell the Codex Tempestus I am afraid and it is currently an obsolete product which we are not expecting to get more stock off.
The best thing we can suggest to get this now would be online auctions sites or trade stockist's I am afraid. We do apologise we could not help further and if you have any other questions please feel free to contact us.
Kind regards,
Games Workshop Customer Service

Thanks for the email, apologies for the delay in reply, we have seen an increase in number of calls and emails and are currently working through our emails.
We have spoken with our product supply team for you, we will be publishing some more Militarum Tempestus Codices, we are expecting to receive our delivery of them within the next month and they should be available to buy from the Games Workshop website around the end of May or the beginning of June.
We hope this helps.Regards
Games Workshop Customer Service

My biggest issue here is, please just make it one or the other, and let us know. Apparently there is some serious confusion going on.

Guess they can't be sure until they read next weeks White Dwarf

"Hey, Right Hand, whatcha doing?" - GW's Left Hand

This is pretty funny. I really hope this OOP/OOS issue will become a funny anecdote about the early months of the AT codex. You know, once the second printing hits stores and everyone is reassured that the AT codex isn't a super limited release we can all laugh about that awkward period where even GW was in the dark about their supply chain.

I really, really hope this doesn't turn out to be another Void Shield Generator situation.

He said he wanted to email everyone who GW had contacted that it wasn't coming back and tell them the good news, which is why there were 2 different responses.

Thought I'd let you know to give a bit of clarity.
