I've airbrushed on an ink wash, and I'll be highlighting over the top once it's dry, then I might do some graphics on the bike.

I know right?

And the basecoat is looking sharp so far marv! Though with the blonde and the blue suit I can't help but think Zero Suit Samus... not that that's a bad thing.

Some of my other stuff turned up today as well.
My inventory so far is;
Penny,
Starter box,
Steel Phalanx box,
Support Box,
Achilles
Patroculs
Ajax,
Dasyus,
Chandra,
Rulebook,
Human Sphere,
Paradiso

I think that'll do to be going on with.

It's not my best work, I have to admit, but it came out more or less the way I had it in my head.

I have to say though, I'm a little disappointed in the quality of the miniatures I've received.
The casting and design seems to be on the low end of the scale. with very poor moulding choices.
Who designs a mould that joins across the middle of a face?
Not impressed..

Well the bike turned out good, but it might need something added to the armor, as it seems to kind of just blur together into nothing but blue.

I'm surprised by the quality issues. The worst I've had has been some annoying flash or some blobs in the joint areas I've had to drill out, but never anything too bad.

I am going to take a wild guess and you are referring to the Asura from the Starter Box?

The asura is a well known issue. I was gutted it would otherwise be one of my favourite miniatures.

Yeah, I have to say with very, very few exceptions the models I've bought have been very well cast.

Ive never had to deal with that asura but I've noticed a very clear and vast difference in casting quality between the oldest stuff and the newest.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Privateer Press. Just saying, the Warmachine plastics are in a similar situation. I swear GW has made me spoiled for model quality.

It was the Asura model, a very bad casting design.
I'm not sold on the Tactbot design either.
However, since I'll probably be going more with Steel Phalanx stuff, I'll just put up with it.
All I need to do now is get to grips with the rules and pick up some more D20's

The blue of the armour is actually shaded and highlighted, it's just not showing up on the photos.
I'm one Tactbot away from having the Starter box built, then I start on the Support box.
I'm not sure on the paint jobs yet, I might go for a clean light grey scheme.
I'll have to have a think about the Steel Phalanx stuff before I put paint to lead.
I may stay with blue to colour match with Penny.

The Tactbots are known to be a PITA. So are a couple of the older Nomad remotes, and I think the karakuri. Then there was the old Boarding Shotgun Odalisque...

The newer stuff, especially the 3d sculpts,, fits together really well.

Nice work on Penny.

After a short break from painting (My 6 month old daughter seems to take up a large amount of my time somehow...)
I've managed to build everything, and I've started painting again.
I've got icestorm on order (along with bolt and altpenny)
So far I've gone with a white armour theme, which the new Penny model will be adopting to match with the rest of the force.
I'll get pictures up when I get back from work.
