Ironically, I can take all Imperial Knights, and still be Battleforged. Wonder if we can take all Seneschals as an Unbound Household?

One of our club came up with:
I'm thinking things like Grot kannons at 20pts each, so who wants to come at my 75 cannons? they're all T7, 3W, 3+sv, every one is a separate unit for targeting and charging purposes. and each has a BS3 shot at S8 AP3 or a small blast at S4 AP5.

Not a bad idea.
Barring the Heavy Weapons mission making each of those small units scoring and worth a VP, which is a singular mission so big deal, that would be rather annoying and lethal to deal with.
Kannons arent as bad as they seem at first for the cost because their LD sucks, and any assault usually means instasplat even against cannonfodder level troops (firewarriors could beat them...thats how bad they are lol). I never lose the kannons unless they are focused like crazy, i usually lose enough grots to fail a LD and they run away.
MSU of kannons...would ignore that flaw lol omg

I dont think all teams can summon daemons. Not all teams can use diviniation, for example. But I have heard that they are allowing SM to do it.

I want to see this only because it'd be one of the weird cases where your army could completely stomp the other player's army, and still wind up losing because of how the Lone Wolves' VP rules work.

For those still clinging to reason and the hope of the allies matrix as far as Unbound armies go, here's a quote from WD;
"It’s worth pondering exactly what the line ‘whichever units from your collections that you want’ means, however. Your collection may, of course, include all manner of units from all manner of armies. So, yes, this means you can simply play a game of Warhammer 40,000 with an army as random and diverse as you want. You could have Space Marine Sternguard Veterans, a Bloodthirster of Khorne, a Tyranid Exocrine, a Tau Riptide Battlesuit and a unit of Eldar Guardians as your army. That’s a very silly and extreme example, and you certainly won’t be very popular with your opponents, and we think you’ll find that going radically ‘off-piste’ with theme and background makes for far, far less compelling games and battlefield storytelling."
It's a little scary if I'm honest.

I'd like to point out at thus time that the new WD has been wrong before, such as when they stated Imperial Knights could Allie with any faction, only to be proven wrong when the codex came out literally a few weeks later. Just say'n.

Not so much. Unless you're coming with a fully converted army of hi-tech human rogues using Tau hovertanks in place of IG armored vehicles, or some other reasonably fluffy army made by mixing and matching units from various codices like, say Hrud or AdMech or Ulumèathi or Pan Fo or something, I won't be playing against your unbound monstrosity. Aesthetics first, pure and simple

In about a week, however, Knights *will* be able to ally with any faction, thus vindicating their statement

Well at first I hated the idea of unbound army lists but now I can field them all in one army.

re unbound, Issue 15 described unbound armies as "Basically Unbound armies allow you to take whatever you want from your collection, and throw the force organisation chart out of the window (while still adhering to unit sizes and heeding the relationships described by the all-new Allies Matrix)."
So, based on WD 15, no you won't be able to take whatever you want....WD 16 you can.
So you have a 50/50 chance of being delighted/horrified I guess.

On the plus side, I can have CSM in drop pods, make a GK libby summon some daemons, sacrifice an Eldar to slaanesh....
In my head it started off fun, and then quickly went to "But I don't fking like buying Eldar. Bloody pansies."
And I can't stand the idea of looking like I'm validating Ward's fanwank of a codex.
And I consider buying anything with an image of the Ultra-spehss on the box (that aren't being killed) to be utter heresy...
Aw. I made myself sad now :C

It ignores the allies matrix??? I don't think you'll find it does - entirely. It ignores the FOC which only allows one ally. So you can now ally sm to chaos and tyranids but they are all 'come the apocalypse' allies. Allies matrix has different restriction/penalties now for the different types of allies, my guess would be less BB armies but BB are the only ones to allow proper coop. Desperate and come the apoc may be even worse than they currently are to balance your pick n mix army. my 2 cent anyway. ...anyway even if im wrong it will let for some fluffy combos like genestealer cults and better construction of custom codex armies, my rebal grot and hive gang armies will be happy for the increased scope in rules proxy.
