Hi Guys,

Have a Campaign coming up soon and figured I'd give Chaos Marines ago

I know the armys that I'll be facing are all Marine types DA SW and SM which is why I went with VoTLW on most models

Chaos 500 Point

Lord
MoN
Bike
Lightning Claw
Powerfist
Vet of long war

Bikers
Melta gun
Vet of Long war

Cultests

Chaos Space Marines
Meltagun
Chain Axe Asp Champ
Vet of Long war

Chaos SPace Marines
Icon of Excess
Vet of Long war
Chain Axe Axe Champ
Melta Bombs

The plan is to have the Cultists sit on the home objective, the bikers and lord to pop vehicles and Heavy armour and have the Melta Squad hold the line from any Rhinos rushing towards my Cultists the other squad is for picking off any stragglers

I don't expect to come up against many flyers at 500 points which is why I've left Anti Air out and I think I've covered the heavy side ok but any advice is greatly welcome

Can anyone offer any advice?

Nothing will kill MEQ like a Heldrake with a Baleflamer.

If Slaanesh is the God of Sex, then why does Tzeench have a Thousand Sons

True but they have nerfed it slightly in the latest FAQ by making it a hull mounted weapon rather than torrent

Are you allowed supplements, if so drop the cultists for the daemonheart (2+ armour, IWnD) and grab aura of dark glory so your lord actually has an inv of 4+

For practical reasons, I wonder if the lord steers the bike with his thighs - having a powerfist AND lightning claw

He can still use his hands, they're just really big. I would model it with the power fist steering the (specially made for big hands) bike while the lightning claw is ready to do a drive by strike.

We are allowed supplements and I am hoping to pick up the crimson slaughter next week to see what they can offer

And thank you for the advice I will do what you say and drop the cultists

Omg... you might aswell just tell him to run this list.

Sorc-60
Cultist-50
Cultist-50
2 heldrakes-340

You will learn nothing and nobody will play you.

I get what he's saying but I can't bring myself to be that guy who takes a flyer in such a low point match

And I can see why, if it was competitive then yes I don't see why I shouldn't bring the best list possible but this is just with some mates while we get used to 7th edition rule set

maybe in higher point games I'll bring the turkey may even try and squeeze in a maulerfiend to try out

Aura of Dark Glory is a 5++ invulnerable save. The more expensive Sigil of Corruption is 4++
