I want to run a 2k army worth of Tyranid flyers, no land guys at all if I can pull it off.

I know I want Flying Hive Tyrants and Gargoyles, not sure on the rest.

In the works

Warhammer 40k. Enjoy it or go play something else. Life is too short to complain.

Gargoyles are jump infantry, not flyers.

Go unbound. Run 2k worth of Hive Tyrants, Harpies and Hive Crones.

Profit.

EDIT: actually, screw that. Take a Harridan and fill the rest with Flyrants, Harpies, and HCs.

Any sort of flying unit in this game is going to be expensive.

The Harridan is utterly unnecessary. But, if someone actually agreed to play you with an all-flyer list, they are already a bit masochistic. So might as well go for broke.

Go with Skyblight. At least now you will have some Objectives Secured scoring units.

And then throw in a Harridan while you're at it.

I brought a Harridan to my last game against Chaos Space Marines. It was a bloodbath.. Harridan chewed through about 1/2 of his armies points while my 2 flyrants polished up the rest. It was amazing.

Agree 100%. I haven't lost a single game that I have ran with Skyblight. The Gargoyles are amazing with this formation.

That said, I thought he really was trying for "100% flying".

I don't own one, but reading that makes me want to change that xD

I'm a bit afraid that if I added one of those to my army, I'd quickly run out of people who would want to face me.

Can't you take formations in Unbound? If so you can take a spiffed out Skyblight, then suround it with Shrikes, Winged Tyrants, and the like. You've got 2000 points, you can buy a Lotta Gouda...

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

Just go with 3 Skyblight Swarm formations.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

"Long ago in a distant land, I, M'kar, the shape-shifting Master of Chaos, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Grey Knight warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!"

What about all the riptide spam, seer council, super friends, beast star, screamer star armies in 6th ed? It's ok for nids to have something on the same power level to answer back with.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

I just got all the pieces to run the Skyblight formation, ran it 2 games over the weekend. It appeared that both players had just a terrible time, they could not deal with all the flyers. I asked the last player if he had any fun, he shrugged and said "yeah i guess".

I can see that if I keep running this list in normal games i will quickly run out of people to play =/. So gonna shelf most of until Tournament time.

You run a 2,000pts tyranid flying circus spam, I'll run 22 Annihilation Barges, and may the hive mind have mercy on your soul, for my Twin Linked Tesla Destructors have none!

On a more serious note- that's an incredibly douchy list to run...

Just because you can doesn't mean you should!

6,000pts (over 5,000 painted to various degrees, rest are still on the sprues)
