Just had another thought regarding the Decimator and Loadouts.

With three crew, you could grab Mara, a Navigator and an Intelligence agent. You could look at your enemy, see where they are going, speedbump them, and then stick them with a bunch of stress tokens. Maybe throw in a Proton bomb to... discourage the use of green actions. Course, can't really tell how good this would be until we get points/maneuver dial, but... it has some interesting potential.

I'm kinda miffed they went with yet another CEC ship instead of taking a different raod and coming back to it later...but I guess they figured the Outrider's fan base being pleased was more important than diversity.

The Decimator is a nice addition to the Imperials though.

Diversity as a function of in-universe manufacturer? That's a weird approach. And you're going after CEC instead of SFS?

Yeah, I'd say putting the most requested EU ship into the game sooner rather than later would be a good call. Honestly, I think it should have hit before the Moldy Crow, but it looks like it's having justice done to it, so it should be worth the wait.

So Squadron Builder put Dash Rendar in the system and I was playing around when I realized

Total = 50pts

So on your turn you can still translate your position about 4 with a '1' maneuver and Barrel Roll, (most likely, have to see the YT-2400 dial) get a Focus token, then Target Lock and re-Stress. And not care about obstacles all the while and shoot 360 no-scope. I think Kyles upgrade card is going to see some heavy use here. I am only curious about the weapon choice. The Heavy Laser is sweet and fluffy but not being able to shoot at range 1 could be problematic.

Also, I'm kinda irritated not that it's more CEC but that personally the imbalanced number of large ships per faction is still a thing. Just bugs my mild OCD. besides the fact the only other 'Large' ship I can think of that supposedly was in service during the GCW was the Ebon Hawk. Though I guess there was also YT-2000's....So what does everyone think will be next!?

I would say that "Next big ship" would be the skipray- except that the way I would see it playing is a lot like the outrider sans-title.

The more I look at the Decimator, the more I want it. It's like seeing the pictures of the Rebel Aces A-Wing, it just looks so cool that you want to own multiples.

Correct me if I'm wrong...the 2400 ( I will refer to this as Outrider every time in the future, deal with it) is the first large ship that has a barrel roll built into it. If anything, I think this ship will cause TIE spam to continue-Barrel Roll is a powerful ability, and it can be severely hampered by too many bodies on the table. A little ship can usually get away with it, but a packed board can negate it for a big one.

Dash going to be so OP(as OP as anything gets in X-wing anyway) Just came up with a 58pt build on him that I would have absolutely no problem running in 100pt games. As long as he performs the way I expect him to in reality as I see it in my head any way. lol

The point is that while FFG attempts to balance out everything and prevent things being overpowered, many people (myself included) will field Dash because we're huge fans, and a TIE spam can clog the field and shut down one of three (and possibly the most powerful, if used properly) abilities on the card.* So rather than FFG discouraging TIE spam in upcoming releases, this one actually encourages it instead: you have a powerful ship with a well loved character, and one thing to seriously hinder him is a mass of bodies on the board. TIE and Headhunter spam will be the rock to the Outrider's scissors.


*I'm sure there are some on here who will argue with me about the power of BR, but being as maneuverability is key and I've won games simply because of that ability (something you can't really do with a TL), I stand firm that it is one of the (if not THE) best standard abilities in game. Unless you're playing against Falcon/Turret spam. Those are a hard counter, but one that needs to be in the game, or else barrel rolling would be a game ender.

Dash has a missile slot, that will help against tie spam plenty. Oh and the cannon on a turret will help.

I just had a thought "Hey, when I go to do my asteroids I should paint two of them bright bright bright red. Then whenever Dash flies though one I can yell 'CHALLENGE POINT AWARDED!'. Then house rule that every 5 challenge points Dash gets an extra life for the next game. "
