I just hope they are also available in sets, similar to some of their model air range.
I will be picking up the entire range.

Damn, just when I thought I had enough paints ; p Thanks for this! Great news, VMA is my favourite range and having VGC colours in the same quality/consistency as VMA will be awesome.

haha. I think the Game Colour paints will still have their uses. Drybrushing for example.
PM me/let me know if you find a good source of the new paints as well. My usual UK sources can only send 4 at a time since the stupid RM changes, so it'll take a bit of time to catch 'em all. Hm.. Poke'Mon. Who remembers that, anyway?
Yeah I got most of my Vallejo from Maelstrom/Wayland but that's a no go now isn't it ; / Defiant Gaming carry the Vallejo stuff at $3 a piece which isn't bad.
Pokewho?

The plastic case in the pic is the plastic case from the Model Air sets, so I'd assume sets will be coming at some point.

aaand mine. I may very well just buy the set straight off.
It's a shame about the lack of fluoro's and turquoise greens but no biggie. The new purple looks great and will never say no to coloured primers! The metallics look great too, Vallejo are on a winner! I have the minitaire set and ran into some of the problems he did so this will bump them even further down the line, though I'm still glad I have them for the price I got them at.
Great video Ghaz!

I can live without a couple of the fluoros, just about. It will stop me getting lazy, having to remember how to dilute the stuff. Then I can go around saying "Eeee... when I were'lad... we didn't have any of that VGA stuff..."
Coloured primers, too... ooh.

Ah Big Kev, how I miss thee....
I'd be keen to buy the whole set. fething Royal Mail changes. Let me know if that place you mentioned earlier get the set in for a reasonable price and I'll be doing the same.
Pom Shops SnM Stuff - £2.10 ($AU3.7, $US 3.5) Wayland Games - £1.98 ($AU3.5, $US 3.3) Element Games - £1.98 ($AU3.5, $US 3.3, £107.06 bundle)
Can't see any full sets for sale in Australia yet, might have to wait a little still. SnMStuff are selling a "set" which is just all the individual bottles for £120 ($AU213, $US199).

Thought that said something other than 'Pom shops' then.. damned small screen and dirty mind ..
Has anyone used the model air through an airbrush and would care to comment on their use? I usually use the Tamiya acrylic range with thinners (they've got a bit of ethanol or something in them that means they don't dry quite so fast) - has anyone used both and able to make a comparison?
Curse those letters, always causing cheeks to redden!
Vallejo Model Air is my favourite range, they airbrush beautifully, brush well and generally just behave great. You'll see a lot of the big painters on youtube default to VMA when it has a colour they want. The only Tamiya I use is the clears so I can't compare them sorry. I have a lot of VMA, VMC, VGC and Minitaire, with some P3 and GW and VMA is the best all purpose paint of them imo - the main downfall of the range was the lack of vibrant colours.

Looks like I'll get them in batches from Fireforge and/or Troll Trader in that case. Free shipping and no silly local markup. I've bought from SNM stuff before, but they have issues with their couriers, need to follow the RM regulations and charge for shipping.
I'd love to see someone like Warlord Games take them up, since they offer free shipping for £50 and over - and ship via courier. Even lacking a UK10% discount that would work for me.
I couldn't find Fireforge, got a link for them? This Troll Trader? They have good Vallejo prices ( £1.89) but no Game Air yet, I imagine they will soon enough.

So, wait, he said they also work well thinned down with a bristle brush TOO?!
NO thinning required, I have no idea why this guy was yammering on about thinning, either in an AB or on a brush, the purpose of the stuff is the complete lack thereof.
This is a much more useful review IMHO

You don't need to thin them for basic painting, but you can thin them for certain techniques - a friend of mine who paints exclusively with an airbrush likes to use "filters"(his term), essentially a very light glaze to tie previous layers together or tint them, and for myself I paint exclusively with brushes and I LOVE Model Air colours for glazing since the finely ground pigment and comparatively high pigment density compared to your normal out-of-the-pot GW/VGC-style paints mean you can thin them enough to get extremely subtle shifts in tone and shade without risking any grittiness.
The only thing that's been preventing me abandoning other ranges completely was the lack of very saturated options in the VMA line, so I can't wait for the set to become available in the UK - do we have solid news on when that will be yet?

I linked a couple sites above that carry it Yodhrin. Some shops down under are already shipping it out so I imagine the ones above that list it are already selling it too.
Yeah, VMA can and often should be thinned somewhat, depending on what you're doing, it's just it doesn't *need* it as such, certainly nowhere near as much as non-airbrush ranges.

Being a coward after starting with the Reaper Learn to Paint Kits' MSP paints, I haven't tried other lines. i like the convenience of not needing to thin the paints (I just use a little water on the brush) and I'm only painting to tabletop, mostly for soft plastic boardgame pieces. Are these VGAC paints overkill for me? What are some ways to transition to these paints without, say, overlapping one's existing paint range or making the wrong choices? I'm thinking red and yellow (saw the yellow coverage in the video -- nice!) could be good starts because of their notoriously bad few-coat coverage in most hobby paints, and the surface primers look appealing because I have to use brush-on primer after finding yet another missed mold line on this soft boardgame plastic miniatures...! Thanks in advance for your advice!

They are available now, snmstuff.co.uk has the whole range.
