At a $50 buy in I'd honestly want to see the stretch goals before tossing in.. the starter set for $100 looks very reasonable though.

Question: I see that there are a variety of weapons for the shield maidens, but do you think you could give a quick rundown on the spread of weapons in the box?

Mostly interested in how many 2 handers and if there are any bows/ranged weapons at all, or if they're all melee (which would make sense, given the theme)

The weaponry for this kit is all single handed weaponry.
Other types of weaponry have been planned for other kits down the road however. As for the ranged weapon option, if anyone has downloaded our rulebook, I'd suggest he/she browses through pages 95-98. You might something of particular interest in page 96. Just sayin'... ;-)

Well, as it stands now it's more than enough shieldmaidens for what I plan for not a whole lot of money. Just in case, though, I'll keep watching.

I had seen exactly that, and my question was my subtle way of asking if this kit would be able to make those as well :-)

Well I ended up backing The value just got insane!

Does that stretch goal for "any pledge containing shieldmaidens" include the $9 pledges with shieldmaiden boxes added on?

The pic says "All Gold level pledges", so no. On a related note, I wasn't quite clear, but the $9 of that pledge level can be used towards anything, right?

Also the free hero model has the silver and gold icons next to it, so you need to qualify for silver or gold rewards to get that one free.

That Orc vs Maidens box could end up becoming a pretty ridiculous deal.

You're already getting 40 plastic figures for both sides, and since that set is eligible for gold stretches, you'd get another 2 boxes tossed in there?

Jeez, makes me wonder what will happen when those Valley Orcs get funded.

This could be all kinds of crazy.

The success of the campaign so far makes me so happy. I backed the first campaign, and was impressed by the level of service and commitment to excellence. They did a great job fulfilling KS1 despite circumstances that would have made a shambles of other campaigns. Their success this time around is well deserved.

WARmaidens. 40 of them? For free?! Is that right? Niiiiice.

I can't do much to spread the word, except maybe on a few Kickstarters, but some of the guys (and mods ) in this thread are more suited AND on the same KSs.

I want to make sure I'm clear because some people in the comments seem to think differently.

If we are pledged at the $200 level and pick 2 shield maiden starter armies then we still only get 2 free boxes of troops right? And not 4, 2 for each army selected.

Some people seem to think it's per selection and not per pledge.

Also side note but I went in for the $190 early bird because what the hell. Even a year from now I'll probably dig a bunch of fantasy chicks to build a KoW army with.
