So I am a big Nid fan... Played them in third through 4th edition but had to sell my old army around the start of 5th edition due to life crap. Well, after picking up the new dex when it released, even though there were some missed opportunities and some missteps, I still enjoyed the book as a whole and schemed a very fluffy, totally non competitive list that would be a blast to make/convert/ paint and set out to bring this list to life!

So my plan was to make an all monsters list (with exception in the troops department, all unique monsters, all modeled to look like they evolved in different ways and are the dominant creature in their own respective territory. A good modern analogy to this would be the primal zerg in starcraft 2. In any case, here is the list I have in mind, Ill take any C & C anyone might have.

Thanks!

Looks kinda cool...you might want to double check you points though...I think a Mawloc runs 140... If you can find a few more points a Warrior Brood should be helpful, and fit the theme pretty well...

Just not feeling it for old one eye I'm afraid. With mawloc only 140pts you have about 250 pts to play with, so go 1,500 pts or maybe look at a brood of fexes in the HS slots. You can arm them all differently if you wish to fit with the theme.

Well, the initial point was to be an all monstrous creature, all different monstrous creature list. The heavies are staying as they are, as I have already modeled them accordingly. Old one eye also stays, yeah I know he is way overcosted and not amazing, but I made a fun model for him and he can occasionally really shine.

I think I am going to go with the second list, as the harpy doesn't really do much for me(personally) and means one less model for me to buy (yay!)

Updated to show only the one list

Giving all your gaunts devourers is a bad idea. Now that we are allowed to split weapons, half dev/half fleshborer is a far superior option.

Haruspexes are bad in general. Take something else.

I know you said you wanted lots of MCs, but only 30 gaunts at 1750 pts is way too few. Even with the Tervigon's spawns (which you can't count on).

Old One Eye is also terrible, but you already said you're dead set on him, so I guess that's that.

Tyrannofexes have never impressed me. I'd much rather have a Dakkafex.

Needs more FMCs in general. The first list you initially posted was better. Still would get stomped by most slightly serious lists, but less so.

Keep in mind that these are all tips regarding making your army effective. If all you want is fluff and fun creatures, that's fine, do what you want (but then one must wonder why you even posted it in the first place).

Haruspexes are less bad in 7th as I have seen due to having default crushing claws, they still arent great, but as I am going highlander and enjoy the variety, meh, oh well.

Old One Eye just doesnt justify his cost, but I enjoy him when he works. This list is very fluffy/ casual so I dont mind having a couple duds in there.

Not a huge fan of FMC, I have 2 and that is plenty for me. I tend to lean towards underdog options, and I know skyblight is incredible, just not what I am shooting for here.

I have always had great luck with the T-fex. Besides scaring opponents with a 6 wound, 2+ save MC, torrent flamer and double flamer at close range is super fun.

Yeah, the all devourers on gaunts was a point fill and for simplicity. No real other motive there, may change it.

No real motive for posting the list other than to share, hear peoples opinions. Just a goofy idea for a fun, not particularly competitive list.

Updated my list, ditched the haruspex, for an all close combat MC, he is unbelievably lack-luster.

Subbed in a Dima instead, and have a spod for (take your pick)
