Two people I play with regularly play Mephiston with Biomancy. Dealing with Mephiston when he has Iron Arm cast on him is an absolute pain. Any idea on how I could manage it with Orks?

I usually play at least one full size nob mob with painboy in a trukk, and have/am planning on getting most things in the codex.

Currently, my only ideas are charging him with two deff dreads, or spamming weirdboyz.

I'm no expert on Orks, but I do play Mephiston, and I can say for all his awesomesauce, 7th ed hit him hard. He is slow as anything else and has limited attacks even with Biomancy Buffs. Best bet would be to charge him with a large blob of expendable guys. If you're trying to actually kill him, you can either go with AP2 long range weaponry (unsure what Orks have for that) or just a lot of shots. Whatever unit you send out to kill him will need to be either shooting or assaulting at s6 in case he does get Iron Arm, but you have the happy advantage of only needing a 4+ to wound if he doesn't get is or fails to cast it. Hope that helps a little

You could always try to tarpit him with Boyz.
Or a Weirdboy with Hammerhand, that are a lot of attacks!
Nobz with Hidden Power Klaws can also do the trick.

Doesn't Mephiston hit with ap3? Meganobz or preferably a Mega Armoured boss with Lucky Stikk should handle him, since they ignore his armour in return.

MANZ will obliterate him. Mephiston isn't actually good at killing decent close combat units.

Yes, his sword is AP3

With Iron Arm it becomes AP2

Manz will laugh at his punny power sword and their power klaws should deal with him in short order.

Games Workshop: Ruining Chaos Space Marines since 2007

First they raised prices on the Eldar, and I did not speak out because I did not play Eldar.

Then, they raised prices on the Orks, and I did not speak out because I did not play Orks.

Then, they raised prices on the Nids, and I did not speak out because I did not play Nids.

Then, they raised prices on the Marines, and there was nobody to speak out for me.

Without Iron Arm he isn't much of a problem.
But you see, the thing is that with it he will be laughing at their punny 2+ armor.

Tarpitting is the best way IMO. 250 model and it will take the whole game for him to kill 30 Boyz.

So from what has been said here I have concluded:

Enough power klaws that he can't kill enough of them not to die.

In general, are Manz, Kanz and Dreadz good against Blood Angels? It doesn't matter much, because I want to make a stompy walker list anyway.

MANZ are solid against pretty much everything short of MC, Walkers, and SS/TH termies. They specialize in bullying though (like -all- Ork elites), so try to use them to just beat the tar out of units which don't even have a chance of hurting them.

Boyz, on the other hand, are great for making sure elite killers never see the light of the Charge phase or simply drown in low strength wounds. Beware the dreadnaughts though, don't they get something where everytime they cause a wound they can attack again? Or is that a different dread.

You are thinking of Blood Talons, which are a pair of lighting claws that get attacks from every unsaved wound that they cause

The BA specialty dreads (Furioso and Death Company) can take them but they aren't mandatory (also still roll to hit on the bonus attacks)

Drown him in boys. If he doesn't get iron arm, slaughter him with power klaws. Also staying away from him can work. He's just a fleet infantry now.

It's also possible to simply kill him with you warboss and a nob in a boyz unit. Add a HQ Mek to your that unit so Mephiston can't pick out your PK to kill it (just answer the challenge with that mek if he tries). A warboss and a nob should be able to take him down even with iron arm up.

You can also try to behead him with the 'eadwhompa. A warboss equipped with it should be able to get one rending attack off in two rounds of combat. Just make sure you have someone to answer challenges around.

Also keep in mind that you also get d6 dice to deny, so just toss them all at the iron arm cast - either you get lucky and Meshiston will be unbuffed, or you'll at least force your opponent to use more dice, which means less powers cast per turn. It also increases the chance of perils, which costs him precious wounds.

Last, shooting him with KMKs or smashas can also wittle him down.

If your group is fine with super-heavies you could also just punch him with a stompa.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Mephy was once the lord of death. Then his sword went limp and he became the duke of death. Now that the powers that made him a force no longer exist, he's little more than an afterthought. Anything in mega armor with a powerklaw will rightly embarass him.

Not if he casts Iron Arm. Strength 9 Toughness 9 AP 2.
