Hey guys, I'm leaving central Texas and moving up to Allston, MA in a few weeks. What are the local 40K venues?

Woo! Welcome to Allston!
Locally right in Allston is the Compleat Strategist, we've got a little club that's just starting to take off right on Commonwealth Ave. We meet on Tuesday nights, and the website is compleat40k.forumotion.com
The next closest club is the Arvard Ard Boyz in Cambridge (Central Square), they meet on Thursday nights at Pandemonium Books and Games.
I usually do at least one of the two each week, both of them are really great guys, Boston is a good area for 40k!

Battlegrounds in Plainville runs regular 40K events... they are probably the "busiest" of all stores around.
Battlegrounds Abington also has a strong community as I understand it.
Thursday nights in Cambridge is the Arvard Ard Boyz, they are a large gaming club. www.arvardardboyz.com
Also Thursday nights in Watertown is the DorkaMorka crew (my own affiliation) they take a very laid back approach to 40K, not tournament style at all. www.dorkamorka.com
Sundays in Malden you have EvilDice meeting at the Hobby Bunker on Exchange street. www.evildice40K.com
I think that covers a nice spread and is the extent of my 40K knowledge at this point!

Check out dorkamorka.com.
They play Thursdays in watertown. It's 21+ but there's cheap beer. Primarily they play Malifaux & 40k. There's a few fantasy players & as far as I know warmahordes is non existent there.

There's also the whiz about 40 minutes west of Boston in Westboro MA. We have been running leagues lately with 20+ people playing.
I'll second battlegrounds plainville as well. Great tournaments and events.
Since your also a competitive guy you should come get practice games with me panzer ;0

Cool, had no idea there was a 40k club there! I'll have to drop by sometime.
I know they're also trying to start up 40k gaming at ComiKazi in Davis Square (off the red line), it theoretically meets Monday nights but I haven't heard much about it.

I cannot recommend the Hobby Bunker highly enough - I only played WM/H there so I can't speak for the quality of the Warhammer following but the venue's pretty solid in terms of table space and terrain. The, uh, environment is spartan though.

Chance, sounds good. I'm also ordering terrain from frontline as well so I should have a rocking table in a few months. Are you going to Battle for Salvation or Da Boyz this year?

I'm gonna try to go to BFS. I can only get a few GTS a year and I've already done Adepticon and 2 others and I'm about to goto nova. So I might not be able to swing but well see.
The frontline terrain looks awesome, if I wasn't so cheap if probably buy some instead of making my own haha.
