Well, with a name like that, who could refuse!?!

(Said in the voice of Alec Guinness of course).

Is this presentation going on Gencon at the moment I assume?

Yes, the FFG in-flight report at GenCon, happening as I type. Darth GM is posting newsworthy 'star wars related stuff' on his twitter feed if you are interested in up to the minute news

So that's Y Wings, Z95, "Star Vyper?" an "Interrupter?" something about IG2000 and some thing about alternate Slave 1 and HWKs

A friend emailed me this pic from someone's twitter feed, not sure of the original source. It's the IG-3000:

Not sure, unless that Star Vyper is a named IG-3000, that's an IG3000 according to the box!

I'm confused. There already is such a faction.

That's the IG-2000, the starship of droid bounty hunter IG-88.

Not sure if serious?

That's what I thought, as I haven't heard of an IG3000, but the images seem to say 3000

If it is indeed the IG2000, I guess Mist Hunter, Hound's Tooth and Punishing One could be in the works for later waves too!

I'm not sure it is a typo dude, they could be the same type of ship, nothing's clear just now!

I could find no reference to an IG-3000 on Wookieepedia, only the IG-2000 which can also be found in the Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels book.

So we have the M3-A Interceptor (not Interruptor)

Star Viper (such as the Virago from SotE)

IG-2000 (has to be, the 3000 appears to never have existed)

Plus Ys, Z95s and versions of Slave 1 and HWK

Looks like the M3-A is actually the M3-A Scyk. The 'Interceptor' comes from it's role as a light interceptor.

None of those ships actually interest me which is probably better in a financial sense. They're going a bit too deep down the EU rabbit hole for me personally but I won't begrudge my fellow players/opponents getting some ships they may like.

Agreed. Not really a huge fan. But considering I own quite a few Z-95's now (thanks Miniature Market), have a few Y-wings, and could see grabbing 1-2 more Slave-1's I already have a fleet in this faction

I can't believe I spent several seconds trying to figure out why that YT1300 was so tiny!

I believe this might help.

On a more serious note, it's good to see that FFG have released that - people have been clamouring for a 3rd pirate faction for X-Wing for a while.

In saying that... Despite having bought 1 of every X-Wing release so far, I don't think I'll really bother collecting these pirate guys. Sure, Xizor is awesome and I do like the IG-2000... However, it's not like I'll be using all the models at once.

I'm all over this like a cheap suit. And armada, and the minis game. I suspect a divorce may be imminent.

First wave for X-Wing that I feel "meh" about.

FFG will get my money via Armada and Imperial Assault though...

I was going to say I feel a little "meh" about this wave. Armada sure grabbed my attention, so are the big ships, but I would've liked a larger release than that. Could've been a lot more interesting if they released a Time-difference faction like, "The Republic" fleet.

I like them. No nostalgia for me here but these are at least appealing ship designs, unlike the Hwk piece of crap.
Will be happy to pick them up.

I suspect FFG knows what they're doing with this, I play SW:TOR and not a week goes by in that game without someone posting on the fourms a request for a "scum and villany" faction. there's a sizeable minority of folks who find the criminal element of the SW universe fascinating. and my guess is, especially with other games coming out now, FFG figured they can use a wave to dip into that potentially untapped market

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Summarizes my feelings perfectly. I might keep an eye out for particularly awesome upgrades but outside of that I don't see me dropping tons of money like I have on the Rebel/Imperial fleets I have.

On the whole this is a good thing, because Armada and Imperial Assault are still likely to bleed my hobby budget white anyway.
