Hi guys, i am looking to make an imperial knight show/apoc army. I am building it up to have 3 knights, 1 named knight, 1 lancer, 1 cestellon and crusader when they came out then to finish it off a warhound. now here is my problem... I want a warhound that isnt $300+ and goes with the army's look. i looked at the dream forge Leviathan titan, but it just doesn't look right. is there anything that fits the size of 11- 16 inches tall and looks like it would fit in the army?ive considered actually making my own by trying to copy some of the knight bits, but i would need almost 2 whole knights and a lot of bits to do it making the cost way up there even with casting. any help would be great, i want this army to look pretty cool on table top.

Keep in mind a Warhound is not a knight, it is a titan.

Also keep in mind a Knight is not a Titan, nor a "Knight Titan," as some like to say. Not that you mentioned that but it always irks me to hear that phrase.

The box is wrong. Google the fluff, they are not Titans.

Okay, so Google supersedes the physical box produced by the company that also makes the miniature.
Instead of arguing semantics, let's answer the OP's question, huh? Lest we forget he wants a Titan for an Apocalypse army, which he clearly stated in his post.
OP: you can either scan eBay and try to find a good deal on a secondhand Titan or scratch build your own. There are plans readily available on the internet for them... You might even find them on Dakka.

Jeeze, get over it people, 4 posts and not a single one actually about the topic.
I'm struggling to think of anything that matches the Imperial aesthetic at Warhound size.

Maybe an ED-209 or an AT-ST toy would make a usable base for a conversion. I have a warhound and it is pretty massive, about double the size of a regular imperial knight (depending on posing of legs and whether you have a display base). I can't think of any models in the GW (or other ranges) that is of a similar design/size to the warhound.
You really want to make a physical cardboard cutout one to start with that is life size (of the real model) and then constantly refer to it for size while building.

From what I recall. A Warhound is 10 inchs tall (at the highest point). A knight is like 6 or something.
Without some extreme remodeling, the tiny 6 inch Knight cannot be the same dimensions as a Warhound.
At one point I had a Terminator 2, Hunter Killer tank (1/35th) that was approx. 8 inchs tall and had planned to to stretch the torso to get the extra 2 inchs, but its tank chassis was too wide to count as a Warhound.
I have since relegated the enormous hull of the HK tank to be a Ordinatus Minoris but the Torso im hoping to give legs or something and ge tit to 10 inchs tall. Its certainly wide enough and the arms and guns are in the correct position for a Warhound. the guns will be lengthened to be plasma blast guns or turbo lasers. Armor plating and details of Imperial/Mechanicus styling will be placed all over the body.
In terms of any other model for a Warhound besides my HK tank, I cannot think of anything.

The warhound is a massive model in relation to a knight. I don't own a knight myself, but I have played against them. However I do have the khornemower, hopefully the comparison pic below will give you some idea of the sheer bulk of the warhound.

The "Knight Titan" on the box is literally the only reference in any GW literature anywhere.
All through the codex they're referred to as suits.
All the old fluff, prior to their 40K introduction, referred to them as suits or battle suits.
At this point, it is actually reasonable to assume someone at Nottingham is aware of the ongoing Titan/not a Titan thing that has rumbled on since forever and included the Titan reference on the box to troll the community.

Thank you for the comments, i will continue looking for something that fits the look of the knights, the warhound would be my "Baron" but i may just get a hound in the end.

Now about all of this knight titan crap... i don't know why it got brought up, but let me use "google" and see what it has... http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Knight
well my first find of the night.. "An Imperial Knight is a small combat walker that is a one-man version of a Titan. However, a Knight is smaller and less capable in combat than even the smallest class of true Titan utilised by the Titan Legions, the Warhound-class Scout Titan."
So a knight is a titan that is to craptastic for the titan legions. OK there is your Google proof, (shows they are titans) if that's not going to make you happy then look at the box (made by GW). If someone still has problems because its not in the codex that is meant to go with the model release and its "BOX" then ill pull that apart as well. you are talking about a people that there soul defense are the knights and the knights dont have anything other then their "super heavy walkers" or "small titans" to compare to, and each knight is that persons property until he dies, they are using old tech so to them that was the primary method of warfare, but in the imperium these are the smallest and one of the oldest class of titan.
next time please only answer the post instead of talking about things you haven't done your research on...

Ya i know the warhound is not a knight, but i like the idea of having my 4 knights then the slightly taller lancer and other variants.. then the one centerpiece to the army. i was going to call it the Baron until forge world made a baron model, but they probably wont, that's why i was looking for something that looked knightly that fit the size.

"...capable in combat than even the smallest class of true Titan utilised..."
Key word being "true."
And as mentioned, this is the sole source from the studio that lists them as Titans.

Here is what the Lexicanum has to say about the subject, with citations from multiple sources:
Titan Classes & Variants
Titans are divided into a number of general types depending on their size and function. The Battle Titans are the most numerous and general type. Widely varying in size, they stand between 40 and 80 feet in height. Some types of Battle Titan have been built by the forces of Chaos over the years since the Heresy, or have been corrupted from their original design. These Titans are unique to the forces of the Traitor Titan Legions.
Each general type of Titan is further divided into classes. The most basic class of Battle Titan is the Warlord. Finally, each class has a number of variants, determined by the weapons it mounts.

OP: Here is a website that has plans for the various Titans if you want to construct your own out of cardstock. With a little TLC, plasticard, and various bits they can make quite impressive models. Here is one someone on Dakka made a few years ago: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/476804.page
