Up for pre-order on the GW site are the Morghasts (£36 for 2) and the Spirit Hosts (£16 for 3 bases).
The kit also makes a special character Morghast Archai:

Absolutely fine with that.
Have you read the fluff on them? They were the "winged heralds" of the Nehekaran god, Ptra. He sent all of them to go after Nagash when Nagash was first in the ascendant way back when...and Nagash slew them, then raised them back up. He used them against the Nehekarans before they became the Tomb Kings but then he was planning to use them as his heralds at the forefront of the Nehekaran dead raised up as the Tomb Kings. He never got the chance to use them in his big final assault upon the world as the Skaven killed him.
To reiterate: They are not constructs nor are they vampires(although Nagash made them to replace the vampires who he felt were "poor lieutenants").
They were living creatures called the "hammurai", and the reason we never saw them before now? They were demigods themselves and only really were able to be used during the time of Nagash since he was animating them. But now that the Winds of Chaos are blowing like a storm, with Nagash being fully resurrected are the Morghast able to be reawoken.
I highly suggest reading the fluff on them as it's kind of interesting. The Morghast have apparently been deemed "curiosities" by scholars, prospectors, and explorers in the Warhammer world. Necromancers have tried to resurrect them time and time again but since there was not really enough magic to sustain them it never worked. The Morghast remains have been found in fortress-crypts, "watched over by sightless skeletons and worshipped by tribes of ghouls".

I can see a lot of people converting those to be standing on the ground. The 360 degree view on the GW site reveals just how thin and flimsy looking the points connecting the model to the base are. Still very undecided over the aesthetic.
Spirit hosts are very cool.

I think they'd all look a lot better standing on their bases - and as you say, they'd be a lot les flimsy/prone to breaking that way too!

The spirit hosts look very ghost-like. However, I'd be worried about them snapping off of the base.
And, as for those other models, I agree they don't fit the already established undead aesthetic.

I suspect that's rather the point of these new undead models - they don't resemble Tomb Kings or Vampire Counts, meaning they also don't resemble Egyptians or European horror mythology, so it's easier to sue people who GW believe are "infringing".

They come two to a box and the minimum unit size is 2+...so you could get Morghast to convert for something like $15 less than buying the two C'Tan individually. Nagash is surprisingly stable, so I would not really worry too much on the Spirit Hosts.

Honestly, it just makes me sad. No offense to those of you who like them, but the Morghasts and Mortarchs look like children's toys to me.

It may just be me, but it irks me that GW insist on making "dual kits" which are actually just "the same thing with different equipment". They did it with Bullgryns as well... a Bullgryn is just an Ogryn with different equipment, did it really need an entirely separate unit entry just so you can say the box can make 2 different units?
I know it's only a small thing but for some reason it's something that gets on my nerves

Think the spirit hosts look really cool - love the flowing style of them, they carry a lot of movement. Definitely think the best of the new releases!
Almost as good as my own home-brew efforts..
Wayland always make me laugh with their pre-order adverts for GW stuff. They're not allowed to use the official images or art, as that would presumably constitute this new fangled marketing tomfoolery that would decrease sales, so instead they have used what one instantly thinks of when imagining Warhammer:
Although not quite as good an effort as the one for Imperial Knights, which featured the Dreamforge Leviathan models..

This really annoys me too especially with the bigger kits when you're left with a ton of bits which are basically useless.
The coven throne is ok as you can use the banshees so if you want to run more than one you have variations. You can also use the necromancer on foot with a bit of slicing & dicing. I do wish that they'd make a unit box for the wraiths as there is only 1 model now so a unit looks really rubbish.
They really need to redo the zombies now too as they look awful compared to the rest of the undead, more so if you line them up next to a corpse cart...

So, they make some vaguely samurai inspiered undead monstorsitys to better tie gothic vampiers together with egyptian undead.
Well played GW, well played.
It would be awesome though, if they went further with these, uh, Hammurai, and their origin culture, if any.
Expansion in to asian culture (other than OK) would be a nice addition to Fantasy.
