Just hope that the Sergeant weapon options don't restrict you from picking up two pistols. I know the 5 Vanguard Vets with double hand flamers remains tempting to me.

With the CAD processes they use now, I bet those are the exact same as the DC bits. In fact, there's probably very little new sculpting in the kit. The other bits would have been made for the regular tactical squad.

Why is that tempting? They can't fire both pistols in a single Shooting Phase unless there's a rule I'm missing.

There is a rule you're missing. It's called 'gunslinger'.

I still remember the night I noticed the gunslinger rule lying buried in the middle of the rulebook; I immediately started throwing double pistols on every single thing that could take them. A few hours later, Tactical Squad Big Texas was born.

This sounds interesting but I can't find it. What section is it in? Digital copy of the rulebook so a page number wouldn't help...

Then just do a keyword search for "gunslinger."

Its not. You can see difference`s in the design. There is no saltires in the tac squad while there in the death company box etc

Ive been using dual hand flamers on my assault marine sgt for 2 editions now. The gunlinger special rule is my favorite rule in the game. Its awesomely strong and awesomely thematic all at the same time.

Soon, you too can have an army of space cowboys!

But jumping back to the topic at hand; it really does look like us BA guys are about to get an amazing modeling boost with this new Tactical box. I actually kind of feel bad for the regular SM players who don't get as many sweet bits in their boxes.

I seriously don't give a crap... My Oracles of Change CSM's are getting a triple Flamer squad! Heavy Flamer, Flamer, Combi-flamer... hey, Tzeentch is all about (warp)flames - don't deny me my pyromania fun!

Besides, Chaos Marines should have been the 'first' marines to get the man-portable heavy flamer back, especially considering we haven't had a single new weapon upgrade option since 3rd edition, while loyalist scum have now received gakloads of new toys...

CSM's don't get infantry weapon upgrades because they get flying turkeys that ruin the game so badly it is forced to rush through a new edition.

If I can do it, I will. I only said triple because it looks obvious that we'll be able to do hand flamer, flamer and heavy flamer. Hopefully we'll get the two hand flamer option for the sergeant too.

Someone on natfka busted out a magnifying glass and saw the cost of death masks. Only 1 point per model. Im guessing they just cause fear now.

Even at 1 ppm the usefulness of death masks will entirely depend on what they do. Right now they have a weird version of super fear that only works when the unit charges but ignores ATSKNF and fearless. If they change it to just fear, itll be pretty useless.

I saw a picture on 4Chan of what appeared to be new Blood Angel Terminators. They appeared to be pretty blinged out, but it was in a big battle scene and they could have just as easily been repurposed Space Hulk Termies.

Still, they looked good from what I could see.
