Hi dakka, i bring to you my new project, i am new here posting my wips.
So i begin to convert one bike to make it a runepriest, i want it to ride with my TWC, i was thinking in something different, and then this came to my mind, to create the bike to look like a viking boat, well, kind of, so this is my work so far

The bikes are second hand, so this one dont have the handle, so i have to improvise one . My intention is to make it to look something like this

I going to post more photos of the advance, some feedback the community could give me is always thankful

I like the idea, but the head looks a little big.

Yeah, it's a neat idea, but the head looks a little off. I'm honestly not trying to mock your skills, but it looks more like daffy duck than what you're going for. Is it supposed to look like it's made of wood? Then you should try flattening it out a little? Wood grain isn't so hard to sculpt, actually. Or is it not to be made of wood?

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr.

First of nice try and really good idea. But I also must agree the head looks big compared with the rest of the model... Imagine riding a bike with that size of a head fixed on the front smaller would make more sence.

But I really like the idea of a viking like dragon head on the front of your bike. For perspective reasons I would try to make a head half the size of your current one. Also deside on weater to sculpt the neck or not and to sculpt the head to be more like a headlight.

Product design has a nice principle to guide us during that proces; that form should follow function. Which means that the function of elements compared to one and another determines form of those elements.

So if you want to have a bike that is foremost fast-, flexible looking and easy to move arround, but looks cool, ornathed or though than all those cool and ornath elements must follow the fast and agile forms. It would be different if function of the bike was foremost a decorative peace and the head is supposed to block bullets... Your on the right track.

Looking forward on the development and progress on this piece! Goodluck!

You would be better off trying to get one of these on ebay. I have a few myself although they are in my WFB Onc'n'Gobbo army A bit of hacking and greenstuff work and you're good to go

Thank you for the real input, as yes, i find the same problem, the head of the dragon is too big for the model, also thought about the practicality of the design so i am trying to figure out how to make a proper design, this last week´s have full of work in my job, but i will retake the project and make some test

If you want a good size estimate get a chaos tank. The dragon head that I always assume is a replacement lascannon muzzle is about perfect & its open mouth is great for the fire breathing look if you're going for that.
