Also when we are with Eldar: last game vs Tyranids I used 5 Dark Reapers with Exarch in a Bunker. Very expensive, but durable. For the price of a Land Raider it gives 7 S8 AP3 shots which ignore Jink. Puts a lot of hurt on MCs like Tyranids and Daemon Princes.
So make sure you don't overly rely on the cover save and make sure you press hard on the IC units early.
This. The Eldar are the great equalizer for Winged Daemon Princes. They are great against just about every other army out there, but these high strength ignore cover shots are very hard on them.
They're quite difficult to deal with for the most armies from afar. And are overall a versatile effective unit in almost every daemon ermy. Potent psychers and can hold their own in mellee to tell the least. But don't overestimate their mellee capabilities. without Iron Arm, they're t5 and have just 4 wounds. It's not bad but if you fail to roll or cast iron arm, i'd think twice before charging anything. Even a bunch of regular marines with krak nades will be able to strip a wound off your expensive daemon. And a blob of imperial guardsmen with krak nades is even worse due to larger numbers. And squads like ork boyz actually WANT you to get stuck in mellee.
Basically, don't rush for cc with something you can't reliably wipe in a turn or 2 at worst. Oh, and walkers are tougher now.

Please tell us more about how a gliding monstrous creature is harder to target than a jumppack trooper.

How's gliding more difficult to target than jumping? They're both moving at the same speed. Next.

They both move 12" as an abstraction. A FMC is clearly faster (as shown by also having the ability to swoop for 24" which a raptor does not)

It's faster when it actually swoops. When it glides, it's not faster.

No it is faster, as shown by being able to jink

Flawed logics. I can tell with the same results that a raptor is faster than a gliding nurgle daemon prince cause he's able to run.
Anywayz, i feel, this discussion doesn't belong to tactics.

Seriously, you have to have 0 imagination if you can't think of any reason that a gliding DPoN can jink while a raptor can't

Daemon Princes that are gliding can run after their normal 12" movement. XD
This argument makes me laugh. Nurgle princes get 2+ Cover while on the ground. Deal with it. *Puts glasses on*
If you don't like it, don't play. Better yet, why aren't you building your Nurgle Prince already?

At least my statements haven't devolved to direct insults.
And nope, Nurgle DP can't run cause he's SNP.

Oh, my mistake, was thinking about MCs in general. But seriously, why the insults and bickering, just play what your complaining about, or comb thru your codex for Ignore Cover. Meep.

You know, flying monstrous creatures also don't always fly with wings, just as jump infantry don't always move via jump packs.

If claiming someone is unimaginative is a direct insult then there is truly no hope.

Nurgle princes are great. jinking on the ground is cool and there was a time when I ran 2 but I've found I like MOS and MOT much better... MON means nothing to wave serpents and tau.. I play competitively so you will see these armies multiple times per event..
MOS with lash plus hopefully Iron arm can trash waveserpents, wraithknights, impknights with some luck on these last 2
MOT with 3+ armor flying reroll 1's (most stuff that shoots in the sky has a high ap.. most) this is great a summoning depositor in your opponents backfield.
always take GR's for defense too

probs.. I used to like the icarus when it could shoot ground targets but now.. eh..
maybe against SW bc that flying freeze ray scares the gak out of me being a demon player..lol
i got a smidge off top with my previous post but I guess the point im trying to make is that.. even though jinking gliding dp MON is great.. it's not the best choice imo

Raptor has a jetpack, In order to move in a direction the jetpack has to be pointing one of many ways. It can move fast, but one can trace a path and shoot. Its fast, maybe harder to hit, but it is kind of predictable.
Enter a Daemon Prince. You shoot at it when flying towards you, wings can move it in any variety of directions with little tell in its movement. It can flap one wing up, the other down for a spiral maneuver, it can divebomb, just to level, jump up, fade right, then swoop left.
This is what jinking is.
