Subject: Dark Eldar (null deployment) vs Space Marine White Scars (with Knight) - BAO MIssion - 1500pts
Null deployment was always my favourite way to play dark eldar in 5th edition. So, I had to harken back a few editions and try this out. Using a scalpel squadron and an autarch, this army relies on the Beta Strike. I was playing against a knight and some fast, and tough bikers. Will they fall to the poison, or will the space marines overwhelm the dark kin?
@Dozer - The list concept is something I have been working on for a while now. This was the first time that I had brought it out, happened to be against bikers , lol.
Sweet beta strike army. If he would of brought Khan (which I think most WS lists should) he could of been in a much better position to potentially get the turn 1 table or at very least start shooting/assaulting venoms as they arrived. Your longer range and toughness ignoring poison really tore him apart despite playing two monster chapter masters. Good job!

Thanks a lot for the comments. I really like the concept of the BETA strike, because it takes away the pressure from going first or second. Khan is very nice for the scout, but the two chapter masters do hit like a tonne of bricks as well!
Did the bikes fall back, auto regroup, AND move after? I thought that they didn't get a move after their regroup anymore? Could have matter as they took out the jetbikes squad and contested that objective. I'll admit that I could be wrong for sure.
@ Hollismason - I love my archons! Great all rounders. As for the trueborn, I usually dont run them, i added them into this list on a last minute whim, for gaks and giggles.
@NakedSeamus - The marines have ATSKNF special rule. They auto rally, and then can act normally on the turn they do so. Its a great rule!

You lose if you have no models at the end of the game turn, not player turn. He is running a formation that always deepstrikes in on turn 1.
If he goes second, he is fine as long as at least one venom arrives safely. Turn 2 his Archon will help ensure he gets a good chunk of his army.
If he goes first, its a bit tricky without good terrain on the board as his opponent has the opportunity to table him by killing 2 venoms and 10 wracks. So then he may want to have more on the board turn 1 and perhaps bait his opponent into exposing himself to an easy kill via the dsing venoms (they get bonus VPs when scoring First Blood).

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."

It seems that a lot of the power of this army comes with Labyrinthine Cunning combined with the Autarch ability. Is there anyway to assure Labyrinthine Cunning, or some other way to give you more control over your reserve rolls?
