Apparently there is a new boxed set coming out for Blood Angels called the Sanguine Strike Force. It contains the following:

It is supposed to cost about 20% less than retail, which is a pretty awesome deal, all in all. The funny thing is, you can run this little formation all self contained. The Termies and Librarian ride inside the Stormraven and the Furioso rides in the rig in the back. This set combines quite well with Strike Force Deathstorm too. Runs you a little under 1500 pts. That is pretty cool. It is too bad I already have what I am going to run for BA locked up, otherwise I would probably have bought this.

Not sure if it's funny that it can be used as a formation.. Its entirely predictable it can be used as such given how GW does things in 7th Ed :p

Not a bad boxset tho if you want those units.

It would almost be surprising to have a box set, where all of the models are useful

It would have to be expensive though. In Canadian dollars, Stormraven is $100, Assault Terminators are $70. Librarian is probably $30-ish and Furioso is $50-ish. That's $250 MSRP, and even with 20% cheaper, it would be $200 -- which puts it way over the dark vengeance expansion (or at least, one faction of it).

At first I was like "Dude, wherever you buy you stuff from is screwing you over hardcore with those prices..." then I looked at the flag and was like "Dude, wherever you buy you stuff from is screwing you over hardcore with those prices!" In USD, the boxed set will run around $175, which is a pretty good deal, IMO.

As it turns out I'm not crazy and my copy of Shield of Baal: Exterminatus was lost in transit. Now, say what you want about GW (and we all know I do), but their customer service is second to none.

1. They're express shipping the softback to me.
2. They're refunding the full cost of the hardback.
3. They're sending me a voucher for the full cost of the hardback.

That's above and beyond. I'm going to get some Venomthropes!

Sad you didn;t get the hardback - the softback is very much inferior in quality terms - I had to settle for the softback of book one and doubt I will be getting any more of these packs unless I can get the hardback (which I did for bk2)

Is it inferior quality because of how it's made or just because it's so damned expensive for a friggin' soft-back?

Wait, did you get the refund, a copy of the softcover, AND cash to spend at their store? So basically...you got the book three times? Because that is awesome. Makes me want to actually buy something from them.

I would have been happy with a refund of the difference between the hard- and softback versions, so the full refund is them just being nice. It's the voucher on top of all that that's the "above and beyond" bit that impresses me so much.

That is quite nice of them. I'm guessing though that they have access to your purchase history and noticed as well that you're a consistently big spender with them on their limited time only products and that you missed a particularly important purchasing holiday due to no fault of your own. I don't think they'd be so incredibly generous for joe shmo buying something in the middle of the year. What will be interesting is if the original package does eventually arrive and if they want you to send it back (doubtful).

Are we expecting another wave for BA?

I was in my local GW today picking up the new BA terminators, I asked if Dante was in stock (since he's awesome now) and the manager said something along the lines of 'he's not been done yet' and told me to check out the pre-releases tonight. I asked if it was more BA and he just told me to check the website tonight.

Have we heard anything or are staff just promoting the pre-releases now?

Actually that's par for the course for them. I'm lucky if I average $100 a year direct from them and have had them do the same thing for me. They sent two authorizations to my credit card for an order (essentiat trying to charge me twice for it). In the end, they canceled one of the authorizations, sent me a voucher for the amount, and then sent me another voucher for the inconvienence. So I got $180 in models/credit for $60 actually spent.

Ended up getting a Cthulufex and a box of Venomthropes. So $40-ish spent for $350. Not bad.

When I pay 9 euro per model, they have the resources to have ridiculous "customer service".
You are confusing 'quality' with 'bribing' and that's not a good approach for a company.

Making amends is when they fix the mistake and give a little compensation.
Giving you 350 dollar for 40 is totally over the top and is bribing people to worship their CS when they don't actually do something special.

They provided excellent customer service in both the circumstances mentioned.
If you don't feel the product has quality to make it worth the money then don't make a purchase. These people did, and received excellent support from GW when their order went awry as some inevitably do in any industry.

It's amazing, given the number of completely legitimate things to complain about GW that are available, how people still find opportunities to sound like embittered lunatics.

The fact that almost all of the characters are out of stock and have been since November makes me wonder if they are going to redo any of them. Unlikely since the codex doesn't have any new character models besides the Librarian and Sanguinary Priest. We will have to see.

Uhm.. I could actually train a monkey to take a handful of money and throw it when someone walks into a shop.
That doesn't make it excellent or of high quality.
If your pharmacist would give you $10.000 every time he fills a wrong prescription, would that be excellent customer service?
There are dozen of articles about good quality customer service, none of them mentions throwing money at complaints.

Customer Service is more about how they help you than what they do to help.
-Do we have a forum to communicate with them? No.
-Are they active on Social Media? No.
-Do they give official responses to questions in a reasonable time? Some FAQs are 8 months old and there are still open issues.
This are three examples to which the answer is 'Nope.'; all three are important for a good Customer Service.

I'm not complaining about their Customer Service, not more than anyone else.
All I am doing is explaining why you shouldn't praise them for handing out free cheques, that money would be better spent on any of those three points.

Edit: I might turn this into a thread in General, just to keep this on-topic

I'll throw in my two cents about GW Customer Service regarding Exterminatus as well. Because I play 'Nids and my roommate started a Blood Angels army just before they got announced for the campaign we decided to pick up all the books and the box set. Everything went smoothly until Exterminatus. When my order came in last week I opened it to find another hardback copy of Leviathan instead. I phoned GW Customer Service and the guy there was fantastic. He told me they had a couple left in the warehouse and would get it out to me quickly. And he told me to keep the extra copy of Leviathan. They must have paid for express shipping because the book from the original order took almost a week to reach me while the replacement took just a couple of days. And now I have a sealed limited edition hardback Leviathan that will end up on eBay since I have no need for another. GW Customer Service can't be beat.

Seems like a fine deal.
Normal: 173 euro
Box-set: 140 euro

So you almost get a Furioso for free.
Too bad it doesn't contain any troops.
And I already own a Librarian from the Space Hulk-set.

It is a great deal. I would have bought this instead of Deathstorm, to be honest. Assault Terminators trump Tactical Terminators any day.
