I would like to join the choir and praise W&N and Rosemary & Co brushes. I would however say that Rosemary & Co are probably the best value in brushes.

I mostly use triangular brushes and I can't say I've ever had a problem rolling the brush in my fingers. I mostly like them because they sit a bit nicer in the hand and they sit more nicely when I lay them horizontal on top of the speaker that sits on my painting desk, lol.

Don't really have a problem with rolling brushes, on the other hand a speaker is a bit different
Maby I will have to revisit the grip issue. At the moment I am still evaluating my G&G Ichiban brushes though.

I generally disagree with the writer of the article who likes the longer bristles. I own a full set of 8404 up to size 2, and generally, I find that really long bristles mean that the tip bends a lot. This is just fine for basecoat or layers on large areas, but makes detail painting harder, as I must constantly straighten my brush, which negates the benefit of the brush holding more paint.
Also, I prefer using a filbert for painting those large swathes anyhow.
Also, Kolinsky is definitely the gold standard for me. I've not encountered another product that reforms its tip naturally like kolinsky sable, and I've not see a black taklon brush that doesn't end up with kinked tips.
