do you want to piss everyone off at your local gaming group? yes? buy the knight then.

I fail to see how 1 Knight will piss everyone off, 1 is not exactly hard to deal with...

Some armies just can't deal with it. Cheesy melta alpha strike lists love going against them.

The only army I can see having a legit problem with Knights are Nids.

Everyone else is perfectly capable of doing 6 HP worth of damage to AV13/12. If you can't, there is a problem with your list.

Only if you obligingly only attack from one direction at a time. The shield covers only one facing.

There was a thread on dakka a few months back (I'll link it if I could find it), which discussed how easily nids can take care of knights. The idea was FMCs with lots of STR 6 firepower hitting a non-invuln facing. I own a knight, but have only played it against my nids buddy once. I ended up in combat with hormigaunts for 3 game turns. So, he tarpitted me.

Here is the article I was thinking of...

The Strongest 1850 TAC Tyranid list at the moment brutalizes 1850 Knights. 5 Flyrants with Egrubs and x2 Devs each. Knights can't even hurt them reliably with stubbers and odds they're nuking a Knight a turn plus the Tyranids have a bunch of other stuff on the ground taking objectives.

Well if we are staying in force order knights gonna give nids huge trouble.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

I had forgotten about the Flyrant built.

That list can be bound if they drop to 4 Flyrants and take 2 detachments. Heck 5 could be legal if they took 3 detachments and 3 detachments were allowed by the tournament.

Anyway, the point stands that anyone can deal with Knights. If you aren't taking advantage of things in your codex which can deal with Knights then that is your fault for ignoring a huge threat in the Meta.

Land Raiders are bad because they have very low firepower for their points and aren't durable enough to compensate.

They're also meant to be transports for Terminators, but that just makes them even more expensive.

and what is an imperial knight?

Not sure if serious

How does a Land Raider even compare to an Imperial Knight?

You can afford $175 imperial knight but not a $76 land raider?
