I was looking over the models on the GW site, when I began to wonder how to people typically pronounce Daemon? The original Latin pronunciation or the English one? Personally I favor Daymon, simply as it helps differentiate the very unique definitions of Daemons from Demons, as the two are not the same and Demon is typically associated with Judeo-Christian spade-tailed red monsters then beings born of unreality and emotion.

'Deemon' for me. Though keep in mind there is the 7 deadly sins that (i think) originated from judeo-christianity of which many of the 40k deamons can be connected to.

I think it's supposed to be pronounced 'demon', since thats pretty much what they are. Pronouncing it 'daymon' just doesn't sit right with me.

"Daymon" for me. It just sounds more in line with how the universe of 40K would pronounce it, in my opinion anyway.

I typically use both depending on the circumstance, though I default to a kinda slurred daymen that sounds very similar to deemon so that everyone is happy!

It's just another way to write "demon" in English language, taking its roots from Hellenic origin. Why do people need to turn this into an issue?

It's not die-mon,
It's not day-mon,
You pronounce it like you'd pronounce the word "demon".

The original latin pronunciation is Daymon. Not demon.

I've always pronounced it Deemon. Daymon sounds weird to me. The Greek work was Daimon which sounds a bit like Die-mon.

English isn't consistent between spelling and pronunciation, especially when the words are from different languages (Daewoo being a Korean word, Daemon comes from Latin or Greek). You can spell the word encyclopaedia or encyclopedia, however I've mostly heard it pronounced encyclop-ee-dia.

These words all have the same pronunciation and mean the same thing. They are just spelled differently.

Daemons are Demons, but to spell it Daemon gives it a more latin feel to it.

Now is that "ee-ther" or "eye-ther"?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Technically you pronounce aegis as "ay-gis", with the 'g' being a hard sound like in 'guitar'. Looked it up online, once.

Surprised nobody said Toe-May-Toe or Ta-ma-Toe.

I use to say Deemon but like Day-mon better for 40K.

For me though it will always be Tie-ra-nids.

I use neither pronunciation, instead opting for "dee-muhn". "Dee-mon" sounds like something from one of the cartoons my son watches.
