Well Element has definitely done some dispatching mine arrived yesterday, not had a chance to go over the book in depth but from a quick skim it is indeed less detailed than I was hoping and a little too close to a selection of the step by step's he does for free on his facebook. Still there's definitely a few things of use in there, so it's not like there's nothing to be gleaned from it, and the recipes are applicable to more than just the figures he's working on, I know I was awful at skin till I co-opted one of Angel's recipes for it.
Plus it's always nice to have another figure for my PanO since I ended up with that half of O:I, really love the new Joan.
Got my book and I'm really happy about it. If you paint for a few years, this book might help to improve your painting skills. I will try "his" technique definitely on Joan, since I have a Evo Gun here for my military modeling.
Only thing I wish he had mentioned is his thinning ratio for the model color range. I know these paints are somewhat hard to use in an airbrush when not 100% perfectly thinned :/

They said the book would be available to buy from the shop once all backers had been served.
You can contact Jeremy / David at jbonamant@yahoo.fr if you want to be sure.
How is it for beginners
I haven't seen his book, but his DVD is excellent.
Here is an overview of the book:
Miniature Mentor videos are also great for learning new techniques with a bunch of videos available from top painters.
I got my book last week ago. I am very happy with the content. The tutorials are great. i wish he went into technique a little more but overall its pretty freaking awesome.
My gripe is the quality of the book. the cover is very flimsy and it feels like the pages might fall out. This is not a book that can leave out on the desk without it getting mucked up.
Despite preordering the book back in February, it arrived today.
Wayland Games Ltd have now categorically stated to me via email in response to my complaint of not receiving the miniature.
"The free miniature came only came with orders placed before the end of November 2014. As your order was placed after this date the miniature was not included. "
Of course, their website is still advertising:
I believe a call to the Advertising Standards Agency may be in order soon.
Especially as considering, judging by this thread, the miniature itself was still rumoured as recently as January.

I ordered my copy of the book from Element Games on
10 Feb 2015 - 13:47
and it got here at the start of April with the Miniature pre ordered by novemeber is utterly untrue though. Its true about N3 but that's a different book.
So yeah wayland at the very least are offering worse service than their counter parts. Which is sadly nothing new.

"Apologies as there should have been a model with your order as when <other Customer support> mentioned the cut off date is was specifically about ordering the book on its own and not as the bundle, which you have ordered. We will shortly be sending you a replacement model...."
"...... Apologies for any confusion. We have amended all the angel book descriptions to avoid any future errors."
So, at least I'm sorted now (in theory) but it's still a complete mess. I also sincerely doubt that the book was any more than a rumour, nevermind a preorder, in November 2014.
Apologies Compel can you pm me your ticket ID please, as that should not have happened. We were well aware that we would be able to offer the bonus mini the moment we knew there was a second batch. I would like to investigate and make sure that support staff involved are more inclined to check more thoroughly before replying to questions.
And to alleviate any doubt, I took a picture a few minutes ago of one of our boxes containing miniatures for customers who buy the book. Apologies again for any confusion. I have excoriated the offender.
