It's a plastic kit, and not a Forge World model, so all GW needs to do is an entry in the codex, and some new box art.

Yeah, but the Sisters' theme is "Heavy armour, bolters, flamers and meltas", none of which really describe the Valkyrie. It's a tenuous connection at best.

I, for one, would welcome more weapon diversity. Though I would rather get a unique, Sister-flavored flyer rather than a simple Valkyrie. Maybe with incendiary bombs to napalm the hell out of people from above .

I'm not saying a new flier wouldn't be nice, I'm just saying that the Valkyrie isn't really any more thematically linked to the Sisters than the Avenger is.

Valkyries have Extra Armor Standard, and can have a pair of Heavy Boters.

Flamers and Meltas are ill suited for flyers, and I'm pretty sure the Avenger doesn't have either.

Most importantly, your ignoring the name and roll of a Valkyrie. Flying women warriors dedicated to a god perfectly describes sisters in a plane. Even the whole tranporting warriors on the battle field theme is there.

You are free to prefer the Avenger, but please do not try to assert there is no thematic connection between Valkyries and Adepta Sororitas.

The Valkyries transported warriors from the battlefield. Mythologically speaking, the similarity is tenuous at best. The Valkyries don't fly, they ride horses. Sisters don't even get bikes. The Valkyries served Freyja, then half of them went to Odin when the Aesir subjugated the Vanir. Inversely, the Sororitas have always been loyal to the Emperor and the Emperor alone.

You could make a link between Sigrun and the Sororitas since she's 'the Valkyrie who brings victory', but again, tenuous, tenuous.

About the only similarity is that the mythological valkyries were women, and the Sororitas are women, and both have some clue which end of a weapon should be pointed at the enemy.

I ironically, both his thread and mine were both posted on the 16th.

So, um yeah, I'm taking the credit if we see the Adepta Sororitas Codex in 2015.

Right now I am negotitions to get 40 Battle Sisters, 10 Seraphim, and 3 of the old style FW Exorcist turrets. As soon as I am able to gather the $10,000 deposit, and collect the $200,000 pledged for the project I'll push forward with the rest of the army.

Yeah, you see, correlation does not prove causation. And as I'm the source of that rumor, which went up originally on the 15th survey says you are not the one responsible.

Pledge Levels

$1 - for expressing this level of contempt for the project, and only pledging a $1 so you can post in the messages section, you will feel the full fury of my impotent rage. I will hand craft you an email expressing my contempt for you.

$2+ - At this pledge level, I will not harbor as much resentment towards you

$10 - All previous rewards, plus get digital photo updates of the building and painting of the army.

$25 - All previous rewards, plus I will mail a random unpainted chinese knockoff of a Battle Sister miniature. Think of all the joy you will have painting that minature.

$50 - All previous rewards, plus I will mail 1d6 random unpainted chinese knockoff Battle Sister miniatures.

I don't think Adam or myself are claiming that his dakka thread is actually responsible for GW rereleasing Sisters of battle.... but please continue to have fun putting us in our place.

From what I hear that army will never come back. The artist that owns the rights to those models is long gone from GW.

They wrote squats out of the fiction so long ago, I don't think half the current GW staff has ever seen them fielded.

The Squat name is effectively a racial slur. GW has already redubbed the closest thing we'll ever see to squats Demiurg.

Squats are a silly race, from a time when 40K was silly and 40K didn't take itself seriously, and GW doesn't know what to do with Demiurg to make them true to the feel of Squats, without being whimsical

Squats are from a time when 40K was blatanty Warhammer in Space, a direction they have tried to move away from, and have no desire to return to.

Squats were an ancient race. To get them into 40K after more than a decade of absence, GW would have to "Tau" them into existance. Demiurg would have to be a younger race, to explain why we haven't been encountering them. I don't think they could pull off them being ancient and lying in wait, like the Necrons.

Mantic already makes Forge Fathers. The Chapterhouse case proved how poorly GW controlled it's IP. GW would have to make Demiurg different enough from Forge Fathers not to violate their IP, or claim that Space Dwarfs are generic enough not to have protection, and that the GW staff has never seen a space dwarf before and they are a completely original concept of their designers.

No one at GW loves them enough to champion them and thinks it's profitable enough to try and overcome these hurdles

If anyone is actually interested in fielding Squats these days, I would recommend using Mantic Forge Father models and creating a counts as army list with a mix of Astra Miliatarum and Space Marines units.

If you think GW are interested for a second in the equality of the sexes you havnt had your eyes open, I doubt you could fnd a genre that manages to totally ignore sex in such a blatant way. I don't mind it but it is kind of weird...... Sex and gender is afterall a rather unavoidable issue in life no matter who you are. I think GW will release a sister codex, along with plasic models and it will be absolutely terrible.

The current codex is actually rather solid.

It could use adding a flyer and some anti air to make it more flexible, but I can't really see it becoming terrible if it were put into print.

Hard Cover Book, Datacards with the prayers, and some plastic kits and we'd be good to game.
