The more i look at your Death Guard, the better it looks, feel like my previous criticism wasn't well thought...

Also, amazing work on Ferrus Manus and his Immortals! Could you share your black painting techniques, or is it simply a light metallic drybrush on top of black?

And yeah, not a bad idea at all to switch bases for the tech father, looks like he was meant to sit on that base and FW mixed them up.

Criticism is always appreciated. I really wish I had more time for painting, then I would like to do a Death Guard Breacher unit as well. Sadly it looks as if Garro will not receive a model - at least not as part of the DG.
However, right now FW is putting out some great character models which have priority for me (plus the awesome Ultramarines Suzerain Squad) - so no more DG as of yet.

Regarding the metallic black --- you are correct, its just drybrushing on top of black ... if it looks too metallic, I tone it down again with Nuln oil.

Ferus ... GREAT!!! Others are awesome too. I have a great fondness for Horus Heresy, especially Character series. So glad to see Your paint on these great models. Alexis Polux with its IF squad is too great :-). Awesome work, keep it up

Thanks for the praise, man. Really appreciate it. Currently I am painting Sevatar, and Sigismund will be next

Great choice. I'm very curious to see the result of both figures

It looks that way, doesn't it? But yellow really is tough to paint ... always too thin, but still clumps together quickly. Painting IFs really takes much more time than SM of other Legions ...

Very very nice indeed. It's nice to see someone just picking models from the range they like and delivering some really solid paint jobs.

Also a nice chance of pace to see 'clean' HH models, alot of what we see has a very dirty and weathered look (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Keep it up.

You're doing seriously lovely work here, and the variety of legions represented is stunning. Great job!

Thanks very much. Before switching to the variety of the Horus Heresy I had my Red Hunters project going on (see image for an example) ... but at some point I got bored of all the red. As soon as FW stated to release Primarchs I knew I would follow that direction and paint stuff from all Legions!

And here is Primarch Vulkan accompanied by the Elite of the Salamanders Legion ...

plus some single Primarch shots ... the base is really one my favorites, I like this much better than the recent style of bases for the character series (e.g. Perturabo, Eidolon)

Thanks very much. I really dig the pyroclasts as well ... while I think I screwed up the Firedrakes.

Why alternative? I only painted elite squads of the SoH which are supposed to have black armor, don't they?

Here are some of my Imperial Fists ... all Templar Brethren. I still painted many parts of the armor yellow, mostly the enforced parts which make up MKIII and the helmets are black.

Templar Champion back

How are you getting that yellow? Awesome work. Would love to get a nice yellow like that without using an airbrush, if possible.

I really do nothing special ... I just use the GW colors ... Seraphim Sepia for shading, got a mixture of yellow60%/white40% for the highlights

here are two more SM from the IF ...

and a first look at Sigismund which was about 95% finished when I took the picture ... I really like the alternate head I chose for him
