Diligently behind a rifle...

Excellent looking DAK list, nice to see someone who has finished the deal on an army, I've been vacillating between going full bore 1943-1944 Panzer Grenadiers/Light Panzer Recon or not in BA.

I'm about the exact opposite when it comes to painting historical models, I am a total stickler for details, to my own detriment lol. Nothing I do is right in my eyes.

Do it! The best way I've found to get an army done is to a) make the army list b) think of a few alternate units c) buy them all d) assemble and paint. I've found armies that I buy one unit for and paint one at a time, never get done... but armies that I get together all at once, I can get done.

This DAK I've had brewing for over a year, with random boxes and units "for my DAK army" (unassembled or partially assembled and some primed) until I finally sat down last months and wrote out the lists, bought what I needed, and then set myself to getting it done.

And speaking of which!

I have finished basing and weathing. All that's left is to do a few random touch ups that have been bugging me, and then varnish the tanks, then Anti-Shine the infantry.

Ouch, sorry guys for the blurry cell phone pic. Promise to take some nicer pics after I seal them! Won't be til the weekend though as it's currently like 10 degrees Fahrenheit in Virginia.

You're amazingly prolific, Doug. I think the minis are very nice - Perry models are certainly more natural looking than Warlord's (I'm still getting used to the oversized heads on the US infantry I'm building).

Your hybrid Tiger still bugs me though. The Tigers in North Africa were relatively unique. Seems a shame not to replicate that...

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Thanks!
I think I just built the Tiger incorrectly. I was following Rubicon's instruction sheet but probably mixed up some mid production and early production stuff. I built it quickly as I was excited to get it assembled!
It's got the correct headlights and air filters at least
