Lynx vs. AdLance is pure hilarity--the Lynx player rolls 6's and the AdLance player packs up his giant robots. So, that's not the question.

The question is, vs. the army/list YOU play, which gives you more trouble?

Please consider specifying a mission format (LVO, Maelstrom, etc.) in order to provide context.


Personally, I despise the AdLance. But to be fair--I lost to it as I was refining my Eldar tournament list. My last game against it (a tourney practice game for the Renegade Open) I won on turn 2 when I blew up one Knight and the D scattered onto the one next to it...and got sixed out. We went and drank beers with the rest of our night. So, maybe I should dial back my hate and get some more games in with my full-strength list. #adlancehate

Ranged D with 4++ all 'round always for ~500 points that can flee as a flier and enter as a skimmer > ~1125 points with melee D weapons and a sometimes 4++ regardless of mission format.

Tough call. I guess the lynx because both are almost immune to shooting so I'd rather face the lynx in CC.

Who cares if it has a 4++ and can fly? It's also AV 11 with 6 HP, and if it flies away it can't shoot. The knights might not win a shooting match with one (though they have a pretty good chance), but they have way more durability, and they can lock down an entire section of the table and claim the objectives.

Probably the Lynx. I'd take a bunch of Skyfire or two ML 3 DPs with Lash of Despair for 2d6 S User shots

I play maelstrom missions, I don't fear either of them, the adlance would take more to trump with my wolves, corsair eldar, or orks

The Lynx is only 6 HP with AV11. Yeah, it's got it's Eldar Titan Holofields, and can choose to act as a flier (but can't shoot), but that's far easier than dealing with 18 HP's of rerollable 4+ shielded AV13 knights tossing about 3-6 pieplates a turn. I can pound the Lynx to dust in a couple of turns with relatively common multi-shot and mult-role weapons, while the Knights will generally require heavier, dedicated AT weapons that I likely don't have as large a supply of.

There's a reason the Lynx is like a third the cost of the AdLance.

That Lynx is also entirely reliant on rolling 6's to really hurt the AdLance in most cases, as otherwise only 25% of its hits are getting through.

The Lynx isn't too bad other than the inherent unfun of 6's on the destroyer table.

Ad Lance is just horrible all around. Dull to face, dull to play, vastly too good for the points. Not only do they have unfun Sr D attacks, they have unfun remove from play stomps. There's not many games I refuse to play, but I can't stand Ad Lance and only play against it when there's no other option. Probably my least favourite thing in 40k at the moment.

Neither. Both are very reliant on templates and I play Elysians, they can't hit me.
