How would I make a 1500 point artillery list for IG with all these new changes to artillery?

Totally depends on what you mean by the rules changes and how much money you got to go around.

The regular IG artillery is still track based and not changed all that much and in fact most people think the old basilisks are not as good as they used to be. The standard codex wyrvens are really good but they are still tracked vehicles.

If you truly want artillery with artillery rules, you'll be looking at the seige of vraks from forge world. Those things are really expensive for the model $$ wise but good points investment in the game.

If I was to build an artillery park, I'd do earthshaker battery and or imperial bombard with wyrvens to kill just about anything but not all of the above are "artillery" and are just vehicle rules.

Your only real choices are the earthshaker and medusa batteries unless you were going for some sort of hydra battery I guess.

Edit- totally forgot the saber gun platforms. Since they changed skyfire/interceptor, they aren't used as much anymore though still possible to get some action with them.

Ig artillery is still great vs it's targets. But the problem is there are much more things that are NOT prime targets to artillery. Flying stuff, MC, invisible/solar pulsed units, fast vehicles that are in your face turn 1-2 while jinking or ignoring pens. So, i'd not go too heavy on artillery. A few viverns, maybe a manticore or a basilisk and you're good to go.

There's a number of armies that you simply can't hurt with artillery. While it's gona prove very usefulvs something like newcrons, orks, tau gunlines...anything that has enough targets for it - don't go overboard and try to stay TAC.

One thing to consider is bringing Mortars to fill out your artillery damage. Bring Wyverns in pairs, a Manticore and/or Deathstrike is a solid threat. Keep the Basilisks within LoS of their targets, as their 36" min range is super easy to exploit.

I'd bring Mortar teams
2xWyverns
Manticore/Deathstrike
1-3Basilisk

If building an artillery battery, what would be better: Earthsakers or Medusas and why?

Krieg! What a hole...

Earthshaker have barrage and range advantage, Medusa are direct fire short range AP 2 weapons. The Medusa can get Bastion Breacher shells for AP 1 and armorbane, too.

IG artillery is scary for my footcron decurion as an example. However, as others have pointed out meta armies don't really fear blasts. Plus, in 7th mobility is the name of the game and having a lot of points in essentially stationary units won't take you far.

Ive run earshaker carriages and they are OK, but they really shine with medusas. The T7 makes it a tough frame if you firmly put it behind an aegis with lots of bodies to protect it. Additionally, you can be given the IGNORES COVER ORDER!!! That right there is amazing beyond belief, a Str 10 ap 2 big blast (albeit at shorter range) will pretty much wreck anything in the game outside of flyers. Throw in some laser destroyers and you pretty much have a hedge of anti-everything then you can send out your waves and waves of cheap infantry or mech vets to take on the enemy. Also Wyvers, always take wyverns.

The rules for artillery carriages and laser destroyers for regular guard are in Imperial Armour 1 second edition, and the newest incarnation is in the Vraks book that came out last week, but it comes with the Krieg price tag (lovely models, TERRIBLE OVERPRICED TROOPS) that work better as allies.

17,000 points (Valhallan)
10,000 points
6,000 points (Order of Our Martyred Lady)
Proud Countess of House Terryn hosting 7 Knights, 2 Dominus Knights, and 8 Armigers
Stormcast Eternals: 7,000 points

If you wanna be silly with those carriage units, you can get kasmakov inquistor in there and start bombing people that are in CC with your infantry chaff for the fun of it too

I use often a mix of basilisk, wyvern and death strike. In combination it's beautiful against horde armies.

In my meta there are crons, chaos, daemons, and tau. I run Basilisks in a pair and they do okay. They are surprisingly versatile for me and are excellent at sniping characters and units in the open and peeling hull points off vehicles. If you like the artillery mechanic, I'd go for at least one manticore. They are anti horde, land raiders, wraiths, thunderwolves, etc. Anything with T </= 5 and multiple wounds haaate manticores. They cover a lot of bases. >

Forge world artillery is insane with the new orders.

Rapiers with ignore cover makes armor cry. Say hello to twin linked ordinance s9 ap2 ignore cover shots.

Saber have obsec and can do ignore cover or tank hunters.

Earth shakers and Medusa are downright ugly with ignore cover and prescience.

wyvern > thud

Shooting at T7 behind an aegis is an exercise in futility. They are as durable as a wet paper towel in cc, but they meta is light on assault and conscripts + priest will tarpit most cc units.

Artillery is great. The weakness is foot lists lack mobility for objectives. Allies can cover that weakness, but inquisition has such good synergy without the mobility..

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

How can you integrate FW artillery to a codex IG army? Just choose some units you like and add them into your Heavy Support slots, or do they need a separate CAD?

But do orders from regular ig actually work for FW units? I recall some restrictions there.

Same cad, they take a hs slot.

The gun crew are part of the am cad. Fw units are basically added to the am codex and are considered homogeneous.

The crew are regular guardsmen and able to receive orders.
