Hi

What is the best way of taking out Flyrants With the New Necrons?

I was thinking about the Destroyer Cult, but it's not optimal as 11 guys just do 2 wounds a round, while the flyrants does about 3.

3000 Guardians of the Covenant
6000 Iyanden not Wraith heavy
1500 Grey Knights Painted
4000 Necron Painted
1000 Dark Eldar allies for Eldar
1000 Tervigon list
Just started Enclave
Waiting for new cody, Lysander is finished
2000 pts Nurgle

Ignore them and play objectives.

A flyrant does a grand total of 2 wounds per round to decurion warriors.

Your AV13 vehicles are practically immune to them.

You have the durability to ignore them, table the rest of his stuff, and them comfortably win the game.

Just go silver horde and ignore them. With a few lychguard/wraith or praetorian units sprinkled in to assault them if they land. With necron durability 12 tl st6 shots really isn't that scary. They will have to land otherwise you will win on objectives. Then just tarpit them with close to unkillable wraiths, rip them to pieces with st7 ap2 lychguard or shoot and smash with st5 ap2 fast moving praetorians.

Generally you just ignore them, they struggle badly to make their points back against any infantry with 4+ RP, and they can only really hurt vehicles in the rear arc, except for electroshock grubs and psychic powers.

How are you getting 3 wounds on destroyers by the way? Is that including psychic stuff? It's a bit over 1 wounds from their normal shooting. 11 hits, 7 wounds, 2 unsaved, 1 after RP.

I will play 1000 pts VS 4 Flyrants and 4 Mucloid Spores.

So maybe something like:

Decursion
CCB w Scythe

2x 10 Warriors Ghost Ark
1x 5 Immortals
3x Nebuloscope Gauss Tomb Blads

Canoptek Harvest
Spyder
3 Wraitsh
3 Scarabs.

Its about 1000 pts

3000 Guardians of the Covenant
6000 Iyanden not Wraith heavy
1500 Grey Knights Painted
4000 Necron Painted
1000 Dark Eldar allies for Eldar
1000 Tervigon list
Just started Enclave
Waiting for new cody, Lysander is finished
2000 pts Nurgle

Although I believe the CCB is still the right call, if you're tailoring your list do note that he will rarely be point efficient [edit:] against a flyrant list.

Remember at deployment to be ready to charge his Lictor with your wraiths and/or barge and counter deploy accordingly.

I wouldn't take a CCB or ghost arks. Unfortunately electroshock templates will make them and their warriors very vulnerable. 4 hits, 4 glances and 4D6 hits on the Warriors inside. Make sure to put shield vanes on the tomb blades and take more units of them, or just take a second harvest. Be warned that scarabs are an easy first blood though unless they are in cover.

Grubs are harmless against Command Barges; just take the hit on the rider. Barges have a large footprint which allows you to spread your Warriors out, they have an AP3 gun which might hit once in a while, and if that Flyrant does land, you can charge it and finish it off. Sure, it can smash it to pieces with a bit of luck, but that's only a single attack, and it won't get to make it before taking D6 S6 hits. Should it miss it'll be, uh, harvested.

I like the Judicator Battallion as well. They'll only hit on sixes, but with ten S5 shots and two S8, you're likely to get a least three hits, which will either shave off a wound or two, or at the very least force it to jink, making it much less dangerous. Should it fall down Praetorians can reasonably easily defeat it.

I think i've heard something about blasts and templates always hitting a chariot and not a rider.

The person fielding a list like this at 1000 points against ANY army is quite beardy indeed. Does he also do this with Riptides?

The best method is to probably just ignore the Flyrants. With this list your opponent is unbound, so no obj. secured and no command benefits. Though just kill mucolids and out last them, do not bring vehicles, will just die quick.

Yeah its a even a friendly tournament, so kind of cheesy.

The list is bound by the way. 2 x CAD.
4 Mucloids for 4 troops
4 HQ.

Mucloids can't score though

Actually with that list he can't afford grubs on all the flyrants, just 2 of them.

Still, I think an infantry based decurion will outlast them quite easily.

Actually that list seems less scary, they have little to no ground presence, also no electroshock, bring a monolith. No matter what cannot hurt it, unless go to ground and smash it

Decurion Tomb Blades will destroy that list. Zip around and blow up his spores and snap fire at him when able. A melee based unit, Lychguard or Wraiths will keep him from landing. THen just play the objectives.

Some Tomb World in some galaxy by that one thing in that one place (or Minnesota for nosy people)

Drop the Harvest all together in that list. Invest more in Tomb Blades and warrior blobs instead and win by not dying.
