The fist emblem on the shoulder pad is me messing (uncharacteristically) around with freehand. I'm interested in advancing my skills in that area.

That Imperial Marine is gorgeous! The fact that you did the CF logo freehand amazes me. My own freehand is pitiful by comparison, an area I'm trying to improve. I hope to build and paint my own copy of the Imperial Marine for the March painting challenge (mine will be Dark Angels, of course).

Thanks, I'll get my own some time. This model was for someone else, and I want a desk decoration of equal quality. In purple!

Thank you! The freehand was far easier than I expected, it just took careful patience and steady hands. And some touching up with the blue paint afterwards.
I'll do mine in Emperor's Children colors. Love purple.

Thanks! Highlighting it was the most difficult part, it took a few minutes to do. The rest was all just patience and occasional fixing

Regarding the weathering, I think the black near the vents in the middle of the wings need to be wider - the pattern of the soot doesn't look so natural, imho. You could also try chipping all the places where the craft "cuts" through the air, such as on the nose and the front of the wings.
Other than that, looks pretty sweet

Yes, I did. Rather extremely, too (Reikland wash, Stormhost highlight). I'll have to look over the model again to see if the nuln oil wash messed with the gold.
Also, yeep, the white bit needs another wash. It's very patchy.
