Ok,ive always wanted to know who is superior to who,so ive decided to set up an scenerio and let you guys choose which guardsmen are the best.

Two guardsmen, one an cathatchan, and the other an cadian are playing poker along side an member of the 101st vendoland. The cathatchan was caught cheating, causing the memeber of the 101st vendoland to punch him in the face. The cathatchan now pissed fired an las beam from his pistol killing the memeber of the 101st vendoland outright. The cadian now angered challenges the cathachan to an knife fight. who wins,if the memeber of the 101st vendoland survived would they have owned both other guardsmen.?

The Cadian's a soldier. He's trained to fight as part of a unit. The Catachan's a survivor. He's trained to fight and survive no matter the odds. Catachan wins this one.

Hmm,what if the soldier of the 101st vendoland survived, would he have made any change at all if he decided to get in on the battle.

The 101st vendoland is an Imperial Guard regiment known to have fought in the Spring Offensive in M41 during the Third War for Gassharma, the rest can easily be found on google.

The real answer: nobody cares. A DKoK artillery regiment obliterates all of them for their treasonous activities.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

What? And waste perfect potential for Penal Legion recruits? Could have at least arco-flagellated them.

The Cadian wins because he is smart enough not to fight the Catachan on his terms but instead runs out of bunker and locks the door after having thrown a grenade inside.
Afterwards he is executed by the Commissar for disorderly conduct.

Krieg! What a hole...

The Kriegsman reports them to the Commissariat, the Catachan, Cadian, Vendoland, Vostroyan, Elysian and Kriegsmen regiments are turned to Penal regiments.

Then the Kriegsmen are executed as well, as their proximity to the traitors may mean that they are tainted.

The Catachan may have been summoning daemons after all. Or maybe not. Best to exterminatus, just in case.

yeah gonna agree that in a knife fight the catatchan wins. now in a ground war? differnt story. not to say that cadians will nesscarily win in a ground war but... very VERY differnt.

honestly there I'd say it's proably terrain. in a straight up battlefield? edge cadia. in a gurillia jungle war? edge Catacha

A Commissar finds them, charges them for illegal gambling, kills the Catachan on the spot for murder, and kills the Cadian for being associated with the crime. There are no survivors and nobody misses them. Welcome to 40k.

Catatchan would win if you're assuming both are equal skill, training, and at peak condition.

The catachan will always be of greater skill and training, because everyday everything they meet is trying to kill them.

The fluff always describes Catachans as enormous dudes. In a Commissar Cain novel (Death or Glory I think) two of them held open one of those huge, generic spaceship doors for people to run through. Plus, catachans are known for hand making their own blades, so there's that. However I'm fairly certain the catachan would have just hulked out on both of them, especially in such a confined space.

Easy
Marbo wins. He's been hiding disguised as all the chairs and the table all along, comes out kills everyone with a look, lays down a royal flush and walks away.

except this is where you're wrong. Cadians are also trained as soldiers from a young age, the Catachan enviroment will create tough strong self reliant individuals, they'll be great warriors...

the enviroment however will NOT forge good SOLDIERS. Catachans are pretty much "an army of rambos"

Cadians will be more disiplined respond to orders better etc.

TLDR the Cadians are better SOLDIERS, while Catachans are better warriors.

there's a subtle but important differance there.

Because he's so sneaky. He snuck right out of your brain leaving nothing but an itching sensation where you've forgotten something.

OP: Have you ever seen a Catachan guardsman model?

They are like rambo on steroids. Their biceps are literally bigger than their heads.

If you are putting a cadian guardsmen up against one of these guys in a knife fight, especially if said catachan has one of those special catachan knives/machetes, then the outcome i pretty one sided.

Fixed that for you. Marbo does not hide, because hiding implies fear. Fear is what Marbo inspires in all lesser beings, who can only hide and pray that Marbo does not feel like killing them at that moment. When Marbo is not killing you it is because he is waiting, and enjoying your feeble attempts to prolong your life.

My money would indeed be on the Catachan.

Knife fight, man-to-man in close quarters.

The Cadian has a nice uniform
where the Catachan's muscles would never fit in.

Should be no contest...

Agreed. I wouldn't get into a 'who's better as a soldier in all situations' debate, because you have to define the situation for it to be meaningful.

In a single, specific example of a knife fight, there are few unmodified humans who are going to give a decent fight to your average catachan soldier. And most of them are probably death cultists.
