I am looking for some terrain. Would like to fill up a board for under 200, but still have it look nice. I would even settle for more thin coardboard terrain like that comes in the operation icestorm starter set, but more varried. Do they sell additional terrain like that? I have searched for a few hours, but each building that looks good is like 35 bucks by itself. Are there any good deals out there?

Full Table in a Box for $200, ships in October... it is board, not MDF but it is chipboard so strong and sturdy, not like cardboard.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/204346096/m4-collapsible-cardboard-scenery

Other than that, laser cut MDF, some places sell table worth of buildings for about $200. Just depends on the style and look that you want. I usually use Underground Lasers

I've been on a plastcraft kick lately. Their stuff isn't expensive, but it's foamed PVC, so it's not super sturdy either. Their Bourak terrain is amazing.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Will second Zippo151's recommendation.

The second link posted has the Bandau Q-Building packs, IMO these are the best terrain release we have seen for Infinity.

Really reasonably priced, but best of all the buildings all stack inside one another for storage. You could just get a few of those as a starting point and, putting them down separately, cover a good part of a 4x4 board. Absolutely cracking kits.

Black sheep industries is doing a Facebook deal right now while they set up their site

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Black-Sheep-Industries/426219257556528

225 for a full table worth of terrain and its pretty high quality. Think they said the retail will be 350.

Shark mounted lasers also has a full table deal for 175 though their quality is a bit lower its still a good deal.

What about Mantic and their terrain?
http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/mantic-scenery-and-terrain.html
It is a pity they no longer have their adepticon deal (that one had a ridiculous amount of terrain almost for free) but it should still give you a good deal if you want to fill an Infinity table with dense terrain. It's very customisable too, so you can get an entirely different table every time you play.

It's not bad, but it's very boxy. Like, a series of connected cubes. Good to cheaply fill a table, but a bit boring to look at while playing.

Even at a lower pledge level you would get a nice amount of terrain from this kickstarter to supplement whatever MDF you eventually get. Chipboard is indeed sturdy stuff-- much better than the cardstock of the buildings from Icestorm

I think you will find that most people who buy their terrain will get it from a variety of sources. Pick one nice MDF building to use as your centerpiece, supplement it with the terrain from the kickstarter and go from there.

Another solution, papercraft terrain. Build your table with it, and gradually replace the pieces with other stuff. Try some iKubes from here http://www.toposolitario.com/workshop/index.html and Worldworks has some very nice papercraft http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/index.php

To be fair, the Mototronica sets serve two purposes - quick terrain for brand new players (since the game is pretty terrain dependant), and quick terrain for tournaments. The second cannot be overstated. Nice home made or painted MDF terrain is fantastic to play on, but for a tournament, simply having enough terrain is amazing. So many touraments go light on some tables and resort to things like table-wide low-vis zones because it's hard to source so much terrain.

If a $20 Mototronica set doesn't survive the weekend, well, it's just a $20 pre-printed cardstock set.

I wish they made more versions of mototronica, or someone made similar. if I am going to get a group of people interested in playing, we are going to need more than one table of terrain at a time. Also for tournaments.

I think there are two different sets of the easy-build cardboard terrain out now?

If you do some searches there are downloads of make-your-own terrain that follows a similar format (print on to card stock etc.)

They're an official partner; as are Antenociti's Workshop, Micro Art Studio and Plastcraft.

If you want cheap, order multiple sets of the Moto.Tronica terrain pack (the card buildings that come in Operation: Icestorm).

Hi. I'm currently in the process of building an Infinity table myself and here is what I found:

1. Dollar Store boxes. I am planning on stocking 1/2 my table with those little wood dollar store boxes turned upside down covered in greebles.
Pros: Very Cheap!!!!
Cons: You need to have greebles, otherwise they'll look pretty plain. You can spruce em up quite a bit with foam board though.

2. Mototronica (and upcoming Hephaestus sets). These are great for scatter terrain.
Pros: Cheap!!!
Cons: Durability

3. Zen Terrain - I bought some of their stuff. Exceptional service. Good price for the amount of stuff you get. Requires gluing. The HAB 3 pack in particular gives decent coverage. Bears saying again: Exceptional service. Highly recommended.

4. CNC Workshop - Fantastic looking pieces. A bit pricier, but you get what you pay for. Also requires gluing. The shipping from OZ is a bit hefty. In the CNC Workshop thread I think they are looking for US distro, which will help with the shipping. Depending on which kit you buy, you can end up with a lot of greebles to decorate your home-made buildings. Also highly recommended.

5. Mantic Battlezone - This is going to cost more than you think if you build your entire table with this. I find it's better to use the parts to decorate your home made buildings.

6. Spartan Scenics - A bunch of friends of mine have these kits. It covers tables easily, but is not the easiest to play on.

Other contenders:

Shark Mounted Lasers (USA)
BP Laser (Oz)

Comment about the Micro Arts Studio stuff: Looks great and is pretty ubiquitous... just be careful with assembly as I find the board they use splinters much easier than the two other manufacturers I've used (Zen / CNC Workshop).

I get it whenever, whereev er and from whom-ever I want the stuff from at the time. I've got a mix of Sarissa, Warmill, Warsenal, CNC, mantic, Pegasus hobbies and others.

Yes, this means I have terrain from 6-7 different manufacturers on my table(s). Does it look disjointed? Yes. Do I care? No.

I don't want my Consolidated Urban Zones to look like Mcsuburbs where EVERY building looks the SAME or is just the repeated pattern of the same three designs.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Err, Mototronica terrain is the opposite of scatter terrain. It's large, chunky buildings that entirely block LOS on a large section of table. Scatter terrain is smaller peices of terrain that you place around the larger bits, like bins, signs, cars, etc.

The part where I wanted to say that the containers are great for scatter terrain got lost. @_@

Exactly. Go into your town centre and look around; there's dozens of different styles. Maybe not so much in the USA, New Zealand or Australia, but most of Europe got a lot of urban renewal carried out from 20,000 feet a few decades ago, so there'll be a brutalist tower block next to a Georgian neo-classical terrace, for example.

In the case of Infinity, there's only been 150 years or so of development on the colony worlds, but I still expect that architectural fashion will have changed several times. Especially on Ariadna, as the available technology has fallen and risen.

I've got a couple of Warsenal buildings, and some from Micro Art Studio. I'm considering some from Sarissa Precision next, or some traditional Japanese buildings from 4Ground, and add AC units, TV aerials, modern door entry intercoms, etc.

At my games club, we've got a load of stuff made from the resin pieces from Ainsty Castings; a warehouse, a junkyard, an "Ammu-Nation" gun shop, a bar and a small office building.
