Yeah I don't think any of the loyalist psykers can hold a candle to Ahriman. I mean, the greatest threat to a psyker is the warp/daemons. Ahriman has plenty of daemon bros and is well familiar with how the warp can work, which I would imagine gives him a pretty great understanding of how to use it.

If we're talking mortals then yeah, I'd be tempted to say Ahriman as well. He's got the willpower, discipline and wisdom of the Imperium's big hitters (Mephiston, Tigurius) but isn't fettered by having to avoid the "evil stuff".
Mephiston isn't that great; he gets mind-stomped by a trio of Tyranid Maleceptors in the Shield of Baal campaign. Tigurius can't be too much greater than he is, either.

It's an individual, just the size of a planet. Every biomorph, every Tyranid beast serves as a synapse in a far larger entity.

I don't think it is a single entity.
Interesting. I agree its not a single physical entity but as a whole it is one gestalt consiousness no? I know there is fluff stating that individual Hive Fleets have fought each other but I wonder were they somehow out of the HMs overall control at the time?
Or did the Hive Mind effectively order them to fight in a sort of survival of the fittest scenario?
I always recall the fluff where a Nid Fleet got infected by a Nurgle virus and could never reconcile why the HM didnt simply direct them into a Sun or suicide attack? Unless it "thought" the Fleet could eventually adapt/overcome the virus and become even stronger. T5 termagants?

If you're going to include the Hive Mind, you might as well include the Emperor and the Chaos Gods too. It may coast in on a technicality, but it's clearly against the spirit of the thread.

I'm gonna assume we're not counting the emperor here
and with that in mind I'll answer Proably Eldrad, With Ahriman being the most powerful human psyker, and Tigerus being the most powerful LOYALIST psyker.

In terms of Human/Space marine psykers there's no doubt Ahriman is the most powerful Chaos psyker.
AS for the space marines.....Tigurius and Mephiston both are extremely powerful. But Malcador was the most powerful human pysker ever below Magnus and the Emperor..

Has no-one read the first Ravenor novel? He makes the Emperor seem like a little girl hosting a tea party for invisible friends.
I nearly wrote spoof rules for using Ravenor in battle, including a special attack called The End where he automatically destroys the entire planet (except for all his friends and good guys) and wins the game. He wouldn't need psychic tests as any Lord of Change foolish enough to attack him would end up as tomorrow's KFC.

And the Ministry of Subsector Trade agent Kinsky still beats the ever-loving out of him in a fair fight, as I recall.
You should see what he does in the Ahriman novels...
I've read them. You should see some of the jank Khayon pulls in Talon of Horus....
Oh, also, Madox from the ragnar blackmane books. When you see what he nearly managed to do to the space wolves...
Atlas infernal has some seriously cinematic moments, as well. One of the best bits is when some harlequins attempt to assassinate him on the bridge of his ship. He's unarmoured and - to be fair - nearly killed. At which point he telekinetically "iron man 3"s his armour onto him, grabs the black staff out of the air, and the bridge essentially catches fire.
But yeah. The main thing is that Ahriman is someone you can point at who was able to channel (and survive channeling) a psychic power that (broadly) killed an entire space marine legion.

lol, not quite.
Ravenor is an incredibly powerful psyker with his psi-boosters. With the boosters, his displayed powers in Ravenor are;
- Possessing a willing target who is wearing a wraithbone amulet
- Skimming the surface thoughts of random people in a single city
- Fighting a powerful but unaugmented psyker to a draw before retreating to preserve anonymity
Without his psi-boosters he;
- throws a man across a room
- nearly dies fighting the same psyker he drew against with the boosters, and wins purely through the power of SHOUNEN GRRR.
In neither case is he really shown to have 'end the world' level powers. Kinsky, said unaugmented psyker, is estimated to be Alpha-level. Ravenor is a Gamma-level psyker - three ranks below that - in Malleus, and "suspected to be somewhat more powerful" in Hereticus, while he's training with the Eldar.
When Slyte manifests - Slyte being a Greater Daemon of some sort - Ravenor doesn't even try to fight it, because he knows he'll be slaughtered. Instead, he does the sensible thing and calls in an orbital bombardment from an entire crusade fleet.
