Only flash I had to clean up from the 3 army boxes I bought was on the walking paladin's took a while.

The ogres where easy enough worst out of the 3 army boxes was the goblin spearmen had to pin there arms and on 20 guys it takes a good bit of time .

Out of the 3 army boxes most impressive is probably the basilean which I am currently painting up but I love the goblin fleabag Ridder's

So much to paint up now everything is put together I have painted 2 guys so far that's it lol but first ones always take the longest time it takes to pick colour and washes and try them out but happy with the scheme easy to repeat quick but still a decent paint job

Normal infantry models though, bleh, after cleaning a FF starter team for Dreadball and then taking 2 hours to half clean a player in the robot team (and yes, I realise the DB robot team is one of the worst kits on a material clean-up basis) I can't bring myself to touch the stuff again. :.

I just finished an a 14 figure Robot team and i feel your pain. There should be a 12 step program for those figs.

I totally agree. The goblin fleabag riders are just one of my favorite designs of the last few years from any manufacturer.

I think a lot of you guys are missing what is for me the best part of Kings of War.

Mantic does not require you to use their models, even in official tournaments.

This means you can use what you want. There are tons of great fantasy models out there, but lots of different manufacturers.

I use Perry's War of the Roses plastics, with some Perry Hundred Years war metals mixed in, for the core of my Kingdoms of Men army.

To expand on my previous post, here's some skeletons from Wargames Factory that I painted a few weeks ago:

And here's some of my Perry's I use for Kingdoms of Men (they are on movement trays for Sword & Spear in that pic, but that's the great thing about medievals - you can play a lot of different games with them):

I know mantic doesn't require there models be used but I have army boxes so I want to paint them and it adds a nice core force which I can expand upon if the game grabs me if not its not alot of money considerring.

I may add in other models from other manufacturers but will wait and see.

Love the Skelton's

Will get the book when it comes out give it a look through but have two boxes to paint before I buy anything else so got a bit of time gives mantic a chance to bring out some new models with luck

Had my first 2 games tonight goblin army box vs basilean army box yes I know the basilean had an extra 30pts or so but not to important.

First battle has a complete and total hammering for my poor goblins purely because I got the wavering rule wrong about not being able to charge turns out you can I never managed to kill a single unit while mines got wiped out.

Second battle I won had 2 regiments of spitters left and all with no wounds with an utter lucky role from my spitters killing the sisters before they charged in.

So all in all a nice 2 games only took around an hour and half played on 5 by 4 table or there's about figured to little points for more.

It felt weird not rolling anything on a players turn no saves or such took a bit of getting used to but we kind of let the other player roll there nerve test just so they had some interaction personal preference more than anything else.

The star of the goblin side was the mincer as it sneaked into the sides of the enemy knights then right into the face of the men at arms killing both although they had a couple of wounds still caused 7 wounds on the knights and 8 on the men at arms in one game but it is very much a glass cannon.

My trolls just stood there getting attacked for 3 rounds then died while my riders in both games got clobbered by ether the angels or knights

But its a nice quick game decent flow should be more fun with larger armys

Not sure I understand you correctly, but it sounds like you played it correctly: if a unit is Wavering, it cannot charge in its next round.

If you are disordered, you can declare a counter-charge.
If you're wavered however, you cannot charge or counter-charge. You can only stand still, turn or go backwards.
If you have Fury however, you can still Counter-Charge.

Yip I know got it right the first time I added to my post before but prob hasn't shown up.

But boy was the first game an utter hammering never killed a single unit think only done something like 4 wounds to the entire army as most my stuff wavered the second they got hit and a few failed charges due to yellow belly goblins

Well, they are goblins.... (But watch out for the red goblins... the ones that stick around wif der ogres is a lot less chicken.)

Looking forward to seeing more tournaments in the US, which seems to be very likely given that AoS will be almost impossible to run tournies for. Very curious what the next 6 months will yield as far as fantasy tournaments go!

As ritides states all good with mantic in fact will remove it from this post that way we can all get on with the hobby.

I like chilling out and painting I hate painting things in a production line so its generally one model at a time up to washes then washes and such tend to be in a mini production line.

Painting it all in a production line is just to much like work than a hobby not that I am a great painter but I do like to try sometimes lol .

Meant to be playing kow tonight but will see if that happens.

Aos has killed fantasy off I know the new book comeing out is meant to offer some balance with scenarios but when an ork is same as a goblin wound wise which seems to be how people are trying to balance it it becomes near impossible to balance that way.

It was aos that accutly made me get into kings of war even though I don't own any warhammer armys (even though I think I do they are in a box somewhere never to be found ). Thought feck it will try kow have to say it hasn't been made easy as brick and mortar stockists up here don't seem to hold much of it. So been online stuff mostly.

Ogres and basileans are looking great there.

Building horses, have you tried hot water? Boil the kettle, and stick the 2 halves of horses in for 10 seconds. Push the 2 halves gently together and the gaps will disappear.

I've only done this on 5 horses, but it's worked like a dream.

This trick works for all restic models. Good for straightening bent parts or reposing models too.

Done this before with failcaste did not go so well lol
Will stick with useing green stuff I thing just putting together panther lancers and crossbow men 30 bloody lancers to do.

Found useing the steam from the kettle works better than dunking them well at least it did with finecast and foegeworld stuff.

So much to put together have abysmal army box what I mentioned above and another regiment of immortals and now I am wondering where the hell I am going to store it all lol

Have to say the crossbow guys for the basilean went together surprisingly well for metal onto plastic but what a hell of a lot of flash on the crossbows.

Not sure if I like the panther lancers or not look a bit daft but hoping they look better painted up

Been putting together the abysmal dwarfs and I can't stand them I really don't like them the gargoyles are awful. Just not the army for me so stopped will throw them in a box and continue my search.
