Ok, here's one. Don't know whether or not it is lucridious, but here goes.

5th edition game, Ultrasmurfs vs Tyranids, 550 points per side battle. Nids had no HQ, Smurfs had Librarian as an HQ (don't remember if it was Tigurius).

On to the point! Dreadnaught took out a Termagant with Storm Bolter, but when Assault Phase came around, Termagants charged him and he suffered the following:
5 's.

He didn't get a chance to take any more nids out. Battle was lost with 6 marines and a Razorback left for the Smurfs on the table.

Tigurius has the worst luck with nids, SITW creature took him out in our 2nd BA/Ultrasmurfs joint operation (along with everyone else in the HQ slot when the Carnifexes came in.) That battle was also lost.

Ludicrous or not? You decide.

A friend of mine somehow gets his Tesseract Vault killed in Turn one every game which then causes him to lose a huge chunk of his force to its death explosion

Had my chaplain with a jump pack charge into marneus and his honour guard, challenge gets accepted by Lord Calgar himself. Combat goes on for 4 turns. He refused to hit me where I wounded him once a turn, every turn. He proceeded to surround the combat with land raiders whilst the rest of his army was having a glorious battle with my own. Last combat, my chaplain proved to bash the living daylights out of him with his crozious. I said a soft prayer to the EMPRAH for his life. Next enemy turn, rolls horrid, gets 2 hits, fails the lascannon wound, I save the heavy bolter hit. He then turned his entire army(in range and in sight of chappy) shot him with everything, only thing that wounds is a bolt pistol from one of his vanguard squads, I get the save, he rages and says that I'm never allowed to use a chaplain ever again.

Next game I played I got assaulted by a single stealth suit and died a horrible death. I haven't had a hate for one race so hard.

Single Dire Avenger (Not even an Exarch with a Power Weapon or Dire Sword, just a regular Avenger) held a Nurgle Daemon Prince in combat for four turns and killed him.

This Daemon Prince had: Wings, Armour, Spell Familiar, Ichor Blood, and a Black Mace. I don't even know how he did it.

Kitted out wolf guard termies in a "how to play" game against guardsmen.

Guardsmen have 4 guys in range, hit and wound three times, triple ones.

It was a very one sided right from then on...

" Hey pack leader, are those... Flashlights?"
"Not sure Sven, lets take off our helmets and look."

It wasn't a death as such, but in a game of Necromunda, three of my Escher gangers started on the top of a shack. When a heavy bolter was deployed across from them, I decided to relocate, requiring them to drop off the low side of the shack and take a STR 1 hit each.

Out of action, out of action, downed. Moral of the story is, don't try to jump in high heels.

Kharn killed by Fabius...

Fabius manage to survive with 1 wound( really bad rolls), then only one off Fabius attacks with his staff goes through, and off course the guy that did die a few times and came back to life by Khorne's power doesn't have EW, but some random IF captain gets tortured for years by IW, and he is EW...

Two more recent ones:
1. Friends dark angel terminators assault a eldar gaurdian squad. 2 of the 5 survive the shuriken fire to get beat to death in hand to hand causing 0 casualties. New shrine erected on the craft world dedicated to this squad.j

2. Necron/eldat vs. SM/Tau, 8000 pt. Battle, (yes 8000). Falcons deepstrike behind Imp Knight and annihilate its rear armor. Titanic explosion wiping out 6 centurions, vindicator, a ghostkeel, and a tesseract vault...which titanic explosion takes out 10 necron warriors, a wraithknight, a riptide, 6 jetbikes, another ghost keel, and 10 fire warriors. Somehow the only survivors where the SM captain, the 3 Falcons, and 2 jetbikes.

I should note that the tesseract vault had 2 wounds left, so i moved it in close to my buddies forces on purpose. The wraithknight was also about to die.

My ludicrous deaths are mostly from 5E's Abaddon. He never saw much action, but he always died in a stupid manner.

Wasn't me but a mate bought lorgar, painted him, was very proud of the results, beautiful painjob, turn 1 of his first game, lorgar casts invisibility, rolls a perils, sucked straight into the warp, so we gave him a mulligan after laughing solid for 5 mins, new model syndrome is a real thing I swear.

DKoK Engineer Watchmaster eats about 7 instant death wounds from a Black Templar Reclusiarch back from when they had their own codex.

10 Man Terminator squad with Termi Chaplain scattered on DS, couldn't place all models... dead. Conceded the game at that point as most of my army was shot to pieces by that point.

This one isn't ludicrous as a lot already posted but it is kinda stupid. My first Apocalypse game. It was a Tyranid themed event so I made a squad of suits that I thought would be useful with Twin-Linked Flamers.
Since I'm dumb I didn't really know how to make the most of them ("Yeah a Flamer unit subject to deep strike scattering ought to be reliable")
It rolled like this

1. Genestealers show up on far part of the board no one is really invested into grabbing even though there's a building/objective sitting right there

2. Since no one's there I guess I task myself to think "I'LL SAVE THAT PART OF THE BOARD"

3. Suits show up

4. Suits Scatter. Away. Leaving large mob of Genestealers outside of flamer template range.

5. Suddenly, after I'm done putting them down, this


6. Ask if my suits are being saved

7. Get told it's for something going on in the middle part of the board

8. Enemy turn. Genestealers multi-charge suits

9. The obvious happens


Since I'm dumb (again) and couldn't figure out what went wrong, the suits then stay shelved for 4-5 years until I realize I can just use them as Flamer-Buffmanders

I lost 3 terminators, and 2 wounds off of Lysander(with FnP) assaulting a group of grotesques with archaon and some other character due to overwatch.

I saw (5th edition) Swarmlord get taken to pieces by 3 Neophytes ( we all assumed the powerfist sarge was going to be the clincher)

I had a game a couple of weeks ago where an imperial guard scion sergeant killed a riptide in over watch with his las pistol.

I tend to play Guard, so I don't often have horrible deaths that are unexpected. I expect everyone in my army to die in grisly manners.

However, I have delivered some hilarious deaths.

In a multiplayer game I had a squad wiped out down to the sergeant, who managed to stick around. So here he is, the last man of his squad, standing next to some Blood Angels, and looking across a small gap at a group of Meganobz.

The Blood Angels and Guardsmen wipe out the squad around the Meganob leader, and then Sergeant Rambo charged off. "My life for the Emperor!", he yelled. He knew it was all over, and he would soon join his squad mates.

With the quick flash of his wrist, he struck with his power sword, while simultaneously avoiding all the Meganob's attacks. After the flurry of blows, Sergeant Rambo found himself protected by the Emperor, and the Xenos filth lay dead at his feet.

...and that's how he got the Gene Seed.

Another game, Marbo took out a squad of Tau Broadsides by himself. I thought my opponent was going to kill me.

In my first 7th edition Orks VS Nids game, here is how the HQ died.

Badrukk: Rolls 3 's and fails saves.
Big Mek With Shokk Attack Gun: Gun gets a (1,1) when shooting at some warriors, destroying the trukk when the gun explodes.
Weirdboy: Gets killed by Genestealers when running away.

How's that sound for Ludicrous?

The KING (Farsight) was my warlord in a scenario game against Space Marines. The Eight drop in, get obliterated by bolters, O'Vesa dies in combat to a Ironclad dread, and Farsight gets offed by a random meltagun.
All he managed to kill that game was a Rhino with 1HP.

So we were doing this minigame where we all pick an HQ and fight off waves of Orks, Necrons and FW Admech.
In short, I killed a deff dread with a biker.

so tonight I had an interesting game against some 30k mechanicum.

My 2 dreadnoughts charged 3 Castellax, 1 dreadnought getting blinded. they swing for a bit, nothing cool happens, when suddenly, the mechanicum player throws in nearly his entire flank that his was on, and over the course of 6 or 7 combat rounds 2 regular dreads take out 3 Castellax, 1 Thanatar, a Magos, and 3 Thallax only to both be insta-gibbed by his medusa once combat was over.

Dreadnoughts for lyfe, it was fun.

I lost an Archon (2+ invuln and 4+Fnp) to a Sabotaged objective marker.

I was playing a 1k point game and my Farseer Skyrunner perils, rolls a 1, fails his leadership test with box cars and explodes and destroys his whole unit of Warlocks. So there went half my army on my own turn

One time I had my Guard Company Command Squad charged by Dante (who had 2 wounds left). Dante issues a challenge and my Company Commander boldly accepts knowing he would probably die. Dante then proceeds to whiff all of his attacks (must of been distracted by all the shiny medals on my commander's chest). The Commander then swings back with his power sword, hits with 2 attacks, wounds with both, and then Dante fails both of his 2+ armor saves, and dies horribly. The Company Commander then calmly takes Dante's death mask and walks back to his squad.

Yesterday, my Khorne Daemonkin were fighting against my friends Orks. There were some ludicrous deaths on both sides in that game. I was running a Blood Host detachment with Khorne's Bloodstorm as an auxiliary. I had to go second and failed to sieze. My D-thirster got lit up by some Lootas, taking him down to 1 wound remaining even though he jinked. My opponent's Morkanaut finished him off. Very disappointing losing such a powerful unit before he can even do anything. I got my revenge on turn 3. My Heldrake did a Vector Strike on that Morkanaut (strength 8 because of the formation bonus), needed a 6 to pen and got it. I then rolled for pen result and got...another 6. KABOOM!!! My opponent was pissed, not at me specifically, but because, as he said, his Morkanaut always seems to explode when it is at full HP. That game was pretty unpredictable anyway, mostly because of very bad scatter rolls for deep strikes and blasts. He was using that Ork formation that potentially gives any non-flyer Ork unit Deep strike, and got it on two of his Boyz units, but they both mishapped, and went into ongoing reserves. My Warp Talons also mishapped, and my opponent got to place them. We ran out of time before we could see how that played out. I may put up a battle report of this game (I took some pics), if so I may add a link in this post.

During HoR Killteam game, I had a 5 guardsmen with 1 plasma gun exchanging shots with 3 Chaos Marines.

Two thing happend.
5 Guardsmen /w hotshots and 3 marines shooted at each other for 7 turns with no casualty at all. Tons of hits but no 5 to wound... Then Terminator deepstrikedn in, rolled bad scatter and arrived on the other side of street he wanted to.
He moved and then Ran across the street to hide. Next turn he came out of building and declared charge. I overwatched. My plasmagunner who was the only one who was in LoS with the Terminator turned around, doubletaped his gun, terminator died and life went back to shooting at the marines.
And that was how his most expensive unit ended...

Another game, 1st. turn, 1st. who was in range, Ultramarine with plasmagun tried to shoot at my guardsmen. To hit, 1. Armor save, 1.
