As always there is a diverse range of fantastic entries, well done to all! I have finished up my entry (with time to spare!) now I just need some decent weather to get the photos taken.

Sexy tank is sexy, good work!

I like that everything else wasn't enough, and they had to add heavy stubbers on the sides of the top area

Thanks for the compliments! I was going to call it the Beast but now every time I see the pictures I hear Brad Pitt from The Mexican saying "El Camino"

Lovin' that tank WinterHound! As for the "superfluous" heavy stubbers, probably had someone who fought Orks too much come along and say "Needs MOAR DAKKA!"

As for my entry, it is coming down to the wire. I've just done the shading, now it is on to the highlights! Of course, then I have to actually assemble the thing. It's gonna be great, though!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 25 | Current main painting project: Tomb Kings

Alright, here it is.

Note the painted crosshairs and targetting nonsense. I redid them several times, and I STILL hate them.

This is what they looked like after I spent a year/decade/century working with wooden sticks to make the legs.

Spoiler:

At this point, I had no idea what plasticard is. I still haven't bought any.

Note the sexy chainblade, because wirecutters are for aircraft, and only AT-ATs fall for that cable trick.
Spoiler:

Corkboard for the hill, sand and strickland mud for the ground, varnished for that sexy, wet look. Paperclips for the pickets, and wire reprising his trademark role as concertina wire. Clay for the bricks.

All parts are magnatized, so you can remove the totally sweet autocannons and still have the sucker act like a stormtalon.
Spoiler:

said autocannons came from an aegis system, so TECHNICALLY, by choosing your loadout, you could pretend to be a stormtalon or a seawizz defense turret.

Really light weathering. Like, damn, is it even there?
Spoiler:

I have a potato for a camera, but there is steel sponged onto the edges and more where the pilot climbs in, and what I call "Angel Dirt", and what GW calls Seraphim Sepia crammed into the corners. Add some technical rust in the joints and spars that don't see use. I made sure to greenstuff over the magnets so you could play with them removed, but I didn't smooth it out because I am an idiot. The gaps are filled with a creamy mix of giftcard, greenstuff, and modelling clay.

This is Doug, the driver.
Spoiler:

Doug loves puppies, long walks on the beach, using glow in the dark paint on viewscreens, and murdering heretics by stepping on them. I ignored the shoulderpads because they are dumb looking, and added the Adeptus head because it wasn't dumb looking.

And this is Brother-Captain Lightyear, of the Star Command Chapter. I am not sorry.

@WinterHound: That's one hell of a tank! I really like the subtle camo pattern and the weathering on the tracks and floor panels is just suberb!

@Priest Foxely: When I saw the model my first reaction was "What a cool targetting grid!" It really makes the model IMHO. Be happy with it!

Not one I recognize, so probably a new one (or a re-image of an old one, Griffon?) But Wizkids did/does hold the BattleTech license, and it has that air about it.

It's something from this line. Would usually come with a grey plastic base.

Wizkids were an interesting company. They occasionally put out metal versions of their Mage Knight and other miniatures just for the painter market.

Awesome work man, and I really like that you went with the old metal one instead of the weird hunchback new plastic.

Smashing stuff from everyone! Going to be a good final ensemble this month, let's see how many more entries we can get in!

On a side note, anyone fancy doing me a huge favour and stepping in to run next month's challenge? The latter half of September is going to be pretty hectic for me what with heading off to uni, so while I could probably still manage to keep this going, it might run a little smoother if someone else could step in. It's just one less thing for me to worry about, and in all honesty, running these things is pretty fun if you have the time/inclination.

No worries if not, but if anyone is genuinely interested and can commit to doing it (just for the one month, I should be settled in and less busy when October rolls around) then please PM me or post here.

Ta.

I can. After the 6th I pretty much have September to myself. Though if you try and get second/an early post in the topic, you can edit that with information and thoughts on the first page as well.

I could run it as well if you wanted, it's about as much of a contribution as I am likely to make

That said, I'm just as happy to let butters do all the work, as evidenced by the UK shipment they've put out
